Excellent grab-n-go achromatic refractor telescope with EXCELLENT, STABLE, equatorial mount with smooth slow motion controls. I can just pop out for a look on the deck when I see a break in the clouds. This is a quality instrument with a wide field of view and is well suited to beginner or intermediate hobbyist (excellent mount, optics and no maintenance required as with other types of telescopes).
This 'scope is less than 1 year old, in perfect condition and it is big enough to give great views of Saturn +moons, Venus, Jupiter +moons, the moon, open star clusters and my favorite --globular clusters! You can also see various nebula and galaxies, although many are quite faint. I also have an SCT, but really enjoy the pleasing, wide views of this refractor.
It is up for sale because I am down-sizing to a smaller refractor to carry with me when I travel by air.
Ideal for someone who wants to explore astronomy for the first time, move up from smaller 'scope, or to get the pin point stars and dark background views that refractors are so well known for. This 'fast' f6 gives wide views of the sky and is rated at a limiting mag of 12.7.
I am an excited amateur astronomer so I can tell you more about this 'scope or give you a little help in getting started if need be.
