It has long been established that the best foods to eat are the natural foods--not those which have undergone tedious processing and packed with trans fats, synthetic components, and chemicals. Not only because these are not natural components of the human diet, but also because these may cause adverse effects on one's health and contribute much to one's weight.
For one, processed foods are often loaded with fat, grease, and oil. If you've been living on Mars, you probably do not understand why these things could tip your weight towards the danger zone. Since this is very unlikely, it is completely understandable why you cannot afford to ingest too many fats during meals. Processed meals are convenient--conveniently overloaded with fats.
Second, these are packed with generous amounts of salt. Apart from flavoring, the sodium in these foods is used to increase shelf life. This may not sound so bad, but having too much salt in your already-unhealthy diet may cost you extra hours spent on mindless snacking. Salt triggers the rise of extracellular fluids in the body which is interpreted as fluid imbalance. Once this occurs, the body would require extra intake of water. Now there's no problem in there save for the fact that thirst may oftentimes pass off as hunger since both elicit the same symptoms.
Finally, the dangers of processed foods are not only limited to convenience foods; fast foods and restaurants count as well. Foods from these sources may contain heaps and heaps of refined sugar, refined wheat, corn syrup, saturated fats, artificial sweeteners, and chemicals you can barely pronounce. If these ingredients are not enough to scare you, then they are probably enough to cause you heart disease, diabetes, stroke, cancer, hypertension, and other chronic and oftentimes
