Hi!Selling my 1978 Yamaha SR 500E Café Racer. This is and has been my dream motorcycle, but I never ride it (spend too much time on bicycles) and it has to go. The SR is an amazing bike and I’m sure I’ll yak on about it for a while in this ad, but here are the essentials: • 500cc Kickstart only single. One pipe, one Carb.• Low standover height, low weight around 340 pounds. • About 50mpg currently, a top knick tuning can see around 65-70 regularly. • Low mileage for its age: 18,200. • Gets going happily with 2 people up to about 75mph at 5,500 rpm (redline 7,000). Breaks 100mph if you’re ambitious. The SR is everything a motorbike needs to be. It was only made for 3 years in the US but has gained a cult following because of its simplicity, versatility (in customizing) and classic appeal. It shares a ton of stylistic and philosophical similarities to the best British bikes of the 50’s and 60’s with the added bonus of reliability and affordability. If a Norton or Triumph costs $6500 and any given small part averages at $70, a comparable SR will cost you $2000 and the small parts (still in at the dealers) will set you back around $25. It also shares tons of parts with the more common Yamaha XS series as well as its off-road cousins, the XT and the TT 500 which are all over Ebay. In addition, the SR is still made new in Japan and is the top selling bike (with a different bore and stroke, as the SR400) in the country. It has changed very little in its 30 year production run, but people do crazy cool stuff with them both here, in Japan, and Australia. The bike runs great and performs exceptionally for an older bike, I just kicked it over for the first time after winter and it came to life immediately on the second throw, idling at 1100 rpm and only with a little bit of bog at full throttle. Pretty minor as you can see:I was planning on replacing the tank in general and will include an old CB tank I’ve been welding to fit on the SR’s frame with an IT fuel petcock. Speaking of, it’ll come with a bunch of goodies (read: junk lying around my garage) to tinker with: A full service manual with a guy from the ‘80s doing a wheelie, the original centerstand, headlight mount, turn signals, several spare new and old spark plugs, and a bunch of carb jets for fine tuning. Heres some of that stuff:Also the rear brake doesn’t work, the master cylinder needs one new seal or someone who actually knows what their doing needs to bleed the system, I can’t get it to hold pressure. I’ve listed the price at 1750 because of these problems. I hate to see this thing go but it needs a worthy owner. It just needs a few things to be a truly badass café racer. I am the only owner since brand new. This is a very nice car and well taken care of. It is an automatic and has 88000 mi. It has power door locks but manual windows, brand new Python alarm system, 6 disk cd changer, and 2 sets of wheels and tires(summer/winter). It has TRD(Toyota Racing Development) supercharger, which provides 33% power increase without sacrificing fuel economy. The car had all the maintenance done recently: transmission fluid and coolant were flushed, new battery, brakes inspected and adjusted, oil changed, etc. The car has been rarely driven since then. I am selling my 1981 BMW R100CS. I am the second owner. The first owner was a certified BMW motorcycle mechanic/tech and he babied this bike. It has 60,000 ish miles. This bike is gorgeous! Glossy black paint! This is the sport model so it has bigger carbs and therefore more power than the rest of the models of the year. It is really fun and super reliable. You could ride this bike around the world! Basically new tires. It also has the original factory luggage (BMW Hardbags). If anyone has any questions feel free to call me or email me. A roll of film can be removed in the middle of the roll, to use a different type of film for expample, and when you reload it - it reverts to where it was when you removed it WITHOUT exposing any frames of your film. With any other camera that uses 35mm film you can not remove a roll without rewinding and if you do, it will expose all the frames before and after the frame youre on when doing it and most often exposes the entire roll. Even if you can pull this off without a lot of wasted frames there is no way possible to control what frame you come back to when you reload; the roll automatically starts at the beginning and the only way to forward the frames to double expose your pictures or manually out of the camera again exposing everything youve already done so far, if not the entire roll.
