ALL WAS OTHERS; ALL WILL BE OTHERSAn interesting old saying. (Scotland: 1753, and later on the \"Text House\"). I think Ill write it on one of the rocks at the gate of our \"Camp\". It reminds me that \" I cant take it with me\". This property has been owned by a number of people since it was Native American. I think Earnest Elfgren built the cabin in the late 1930s or 1940s. Ray Green did much of the stone work. Mrs Elfgren visited us a few years ago at age 93 and recalled that she and her children moved about a mile to \"the camp\" on the last day of school and then back home on the first day of school. The forest is very majestic with its 100 foot tall Hemlock and White Pine. It may be what is correctly called an \"Old forest\". It certainly has not been cut off in the last 100 years. The hillside is steep and access is poor. That is a common trait in the little pieces of \"old forest\" that still exist. It was hard to harvest the timber so no one bothered to do so. The 50,000 gallons of clear spring water each day bubbles out of the rocks, into the small pond, and then falls into the larger pond. I never get tired of watching and hearing the water bubble up and then fall into the pond. We never run out of things to \"do\" at the camp. Sometimes \"doing\" means sitting on the porch drinking wine and reading. Sometimes we take the short walk to the bucolic natural waterfall on Warren Brook. (Warren Brook is the Western Boundary of our property; Whetstone Brook is the Southern boundary of our property. Peeptoad Pond is between the two brooks and the shoreline of that pond is also a boundary. (The \"spring pond\" and \"larger pond\" that I mentioned earlier are both completely contained within our 20 acre property.) This is not a stressed sale of any kind. It is just time to pass this lovely property on to \"others\" so they can enjoy it and care for it..... while it cares for them. I have 40 years of \"thing to do\" already planned. Ill be 100 years old in just 33 years. I plan to do nothing when Im 100 years old; so Im 7 years short. Something has to go. Good Bye \"Camp\". Im sure you will take care of the camp.
