Since Im not sure how much this car is worth I am simply accepting offers. The person to offer the most money for it will get the car!I am offering my 1973 Plymouth Duster for sale. This car was my daily driver from 2001 to 2005 when a crankshaft problem forced me to take it off the road. Since 2005 it has been garaged. The engine, a 225 Slant 6, has since had the crankshaft replaced, all valves re-seated, all valve seals replaced and new piston rings installed. The engine is running excellent. It has had no new miles put on it since the things I just mentioned were done. I cant say for sure how many miles it had on it before the crankshaft problem because this engine is not the cars original engine. We replaced the original Slant 6 in 2001 after the it seized because of engine sludge and a bad oil pump.As far as the rest of the car is concerned, heres the deal. It is currently covered in primer. It looks pretty good but the reason it hasnt been painted is because of persistant rust spots coming through in certain areas. There is a good deal of body filler in various sections of the car. Unfortunately, if you want to keep this car alive it is probably going to need some of the metal replaced. The interior looks very nice for the most part. This car is definitely a fixer-upper though. To make it a reliable daily driver it will need some TLC including some work on the brakes and at least a couple new tires.There is one more thing that needs to be noted about this car. Sometime in 2002 or 2003 I had an accident that involved running over a gigantic rock on Tower Hill Road in Cumberland, RI. All damage caused by the accident was repaired immediately, however, there is still a crack on part of the frame that connects the strut rod to the control arm. A piece of steel bolted on to the this area allowed me to keep driving the car although this is probably not a good long term solution and the part should definitely be welded (see last two pics below).I have tried to take very detailed pictures of the car so you can get a good idea of its condition. Only a handful are shown below though. Low 65K original miles with 3.3L V6 engine with auto transmission and is equipped with power door locks, power steering, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, A/C, Pioneer aftermarket stereo with CD and an aftermarket remote alarm / starter. Im selling the Subaru Justy because it needs a little work but i dont have the time or money left to invest in it, It is a good little car, just had the undercarriage tightened and the wheels rotated, it is a standard and the clutch works great. The only problems that needs to be fixed is a tiny oil leak, which the mechanic said wasnt really a problem, and the car bucks sometimes when you drive it. I brought it to a couple of mechanics and they said that i was probably riding the clutch, but I know I wasnt because it just started doing it one day out of the blue. I had another guy check it he says its becuase its an old car, and said it wasnt the clutch, so i have absolutely no idea what it is, but other than that it is driveable and i had used it until the bucking started about a month or 2 ago, and then i stopped driving it for the fear i may be running it down. There is a new convertible top that has been installed recently, it makes the car look brand new. The rims are in good condition with no dents. The doors open and shut nicely. The previous owner installed after market altezza tail lights which makes the car look even sportier than it already was. (not necessary but nice touch!) There is no visible rust anywhere on the body that I could find. I did notice there is a crack in the drivers side turn signal which I will fix and/or adjust the price accordingly for.Interior: The upholstery has its usual wear and tare for being 11 years old but I think the comfort of the leather and the power of the LT1 engine is enough to make you forget about the few rips and tares. The dash is in good condition. Air conditioning works 100%. All the knobs and heater controls are in good working condition. The console is clean and the storage lid opens and closes nicely. The rear seats are in good shape, they have the 30th anniversary logo printed in the center of the seats that adds a nice touch. There is a rip in the headliner and on the drivers seat, other than that, the interior is in good condition.Mechanical: The Camaros LT1 engine starts right up and runs good with no visible leaks or funny noises of any kind. The engine is a 5.7 liter V8 rated @ 300 horsepower. It has plenty of power. This was the last year GM used the LT1 engine. The transmission shifts smoothly through all the gears. The car steers good and strait and the power steering feels tight. The brakes are in good working condition. The convertible top goes up and down nicely, it needs a little push when you put it down though.. possibly because the new top isnt broken in All in all this is a very nice 30th Anniversary Z28/LT1 Camaro Convertible anybody would be proud to own. I also have a 1997 Hard Top for you to look at as well.
