Hey everyone, I have a 92 Mercedes Benz 300E with an in-line 6 3.0L gas motor and auto tranny. It only has 127,xxx miles, and an awesome dark chocolate leather interior with no rips, sun roof, auto windows/seats/mirror, aftermarket Panasonic stereo, aftermarket 18\" Mercedes rims, great on gas.. I havent had any trouble with this car but I did just have a tune up done on the car where they changed all the injectors, fuel filter, spark plugs, distributer cap, and rotor. Its essentially the same vehicle, designed by famed automotive architect Giorgetto Giugiaro; the American version has round headlights (which are very swanky, I must say!).It is a 1.6 liter fuel injected (one of the first FI models!) 4-speed. Its a 4 cylinder, water cooled engine, so it lacks a lot of the maddening quirks that crop up with the old air cooled versions.The good:+ Its been ridiculously reliable up till very recently. Its been up mountains, through snow storms, and never with any problems.+ It still has working heat, its the warmest VW Ive ever met.+ It had the brakes done in the last three months.+ It passed its last emissions test.+ Its had a tune up in the last six months.+ If youre not a VW do-it-yourselfer, we have a great trustworthy mechanic (a hard thing to find for an old VW!)+ Its seriously great looking, with a moon roof, great lines, and a remarkably nice color.The bad:+ It needs a new set of front tie rods. I have a 1995 Volkswagon for sale. It is a 5 speed, 131,483 miles. Title is clean, with only 3 previous owners. 4 doors, hatchback. Air bags. New tires, only on for 1 year. Car has been hardly used in one year. Well its a red 99 ford ranger, 4 cylinder, 5 spd manual, extended cab, 2 wheel drive. This truck is great on gas and is an awesome work truck I have towed with it and hauled just about anything with it.
