I got swamped and turned upside down May 29th, Friday, around 6:30 pm. I got sucked under one of the floating docks along the Washington side of the Columbia. The last I saw of my kayak, it still had an orange lifesaver vest and a blue folding chair bungied over the compartment lids and was floating downstream, up side down. In the rear compartment is a gray JanSport day pack and an original army blanket. Someone contacted the Coast Guard about the drifting kayak and also mentioned the daypack in the rear compartment. I was in the water for about 40 minutes, fighting the current, trying to get up on that dock. I eventually found a way up, but it took so long! I started out from Wintler Park on the Vancouver side of the river and was headed back there when the incident happened. For people who were at Wintler Park a lot, I was the older guy with the \"aussie\" hat you saw paddling upstream almost every day. (The $1 in the \"price\" block above is there because I had to enter some figure just to post this! It has no meaning otherwise.)If you found, or know about this kayak, please give me a call at (360)901-0616 My name is Don. Ill describe everything in the backpack, pocket by pocket. Here are a couple pics showing the kayak with the orange vest just where it was, .... and that is the blue folding chair I referred to. I miss my little kayak!
