My life centers around spirituality and the divine and I do counseling work in the community offering low cost services to those who need support as well as meditation instruction and spiritual coaching. In order to make sure the bills get paid on time I also do freelance technology consulting although my primary work centers on healing practice and building community. I am committed to personal growth and spiritual practice and I meditate and do yoga and study daily although I am not into organized religion. I also dont put my trip or beliefs on others because I respect everyones unique path and lifestyle choices, Im friendly to almost all alternative lifestyles and practice some myself. In addition, Im a writer who maintains a blog and a zine and my writing focuses on spirituality, psychology and transformation. I live simply and have very little stuff and dont own a car so I dont need much space. I am mostly vegetarian although I do eat meat on rare occasions though never at home. I drink very little, just a good beer or glass of wine from time to time and the occasional puff of the green stuff but I keep a healthy clear state of mind for the most part. My approach to communal living which Ive done a great deal of involves open honest communication and a balance between connection and personal space. I would like to live with people who want to have some kind of connection without needing or forcing it to be more than it is. I have a strong community of friends but am always open to more and tend to think of roommates more as family when it works well. Id like to find a cool laid back cozy place to spend the awesome Portland summer and probably longer if its a good fit. Im staying with friends after moving out a of long term sublet so Im ready to find a sweet place. A little about me.........well Im a friendly laid back kind of guy who gets along well with almost everyone. The work I do represents my passion and involves offering low cost informal counseling services to the community in coffee shops, parks and peoples homes. Im a counselor that does house calls ;) Working with people is my passion. In addition to counseling work I am also a writer focusing on things like mental health, psychology, spirituality, politics and other things. I consider my work very much heart based and creative. Im a person that finds a great deal of meaning in life and I enjoy it very much. Spirituality is important to me as well and I meditate and do yoga daily but dont subscribe to any organized religion. You could say Im a bit of an activist when it comes to health, spirituality and society and am active in working to bring about a more conscious compassionate society. Some of my other interests include many of the usual things like music (ah music all kinds of music), dance (mainly ecstatic and trance), the occasional drink (beer and wine mostly), the occasional puff (green), alternative medicine, gardening, zine making, sustainability, PDX coffee shops (for work and connection and awesome coffee), art, consciousness, connection and community and quite a bit more.Basically Id like to find a place with somewhat like-minded people who are pursuing their own paths passionately and are into some connection and community. I have very little stuff so only really need a small space. I am mostly vegetarian, never eat any meat at home and eat it only rarely. I dont watch TV either or own a car if that matters. A place with a good connected community vibe would be great, with open communication and a balance of connection and personal space. Im in the process of building a large dog run/kennel for my dogs who have decided after 8 years to start digging holes in the lawn.I still need a few materials and need them at little or no costs. We just moved into a house - where part of our deck is enclosed with a white picket fence, however the edge near our front door and front steps is not enclosed. My mother in law is in a wheelchair but can walk a couple steps - but cannot at our place because there is nothing to hold onto. I only need about 3 feet in length of fencing to enclose the rest of the deck so she can have something to use to pull up and walk on her own.If you are remodeling and getting rid of any - I would really like it.If you are near gresham please let us know. Some of my other interests include many of the usual things like music (ah music all kinds of music), dance (mainly ecstatic and trance), the occasional drink (beer and wine mostly), the occasional puff (green), alternative medicine, sustainability, PDX coffee shops (for work and connection and awesome coffee), art, consciousness, connection and community and quite a bit more.Basically Id like to find a place with somewhat like-minded people who are pursuing their own paths passionately and are into some connection and community. I’m a 26 year old female nursing student at OHSU. My roommate is moving to France so I’m looking for a female roommate beginning March 1st. I live in a two bedroom apartment in the area of SE 39th and Stark, within walking distance of many convenient things (Belmont library, Fred Meyer, Walgreens, Belmont & Hawthorne stores/restaurants). It’s easy to get around the area by foot, bus, or bike. The apartment is great – there are plenty of windows, the bedrooms are a decent size, and the kitchen and pantry are really spacious. There is no storage space. Rent is $425 a month plus utilities. I have 2 cats, so you’d have to like living with cats. It’s the max amount of animal the landlord will allow, so no other pets. I’m a pretty quiet, reliable, respectful, and clean person, and looking for the same. I’d prefer to live with another student, but I’m open to anyone who is respectful of someone who has to study and get up very early. It’s a duplex and the landlord lives downstairs.
