40 year old male enduring a separation from wife of ten years. Looking for a quiet place to hang my clothes and cook a meal. Of unknown duration; my guess is to the end of the year at least. I have a 2 and 4 year old, but dont foresee them visiting me at location. So far, I have always been meeting them at their home. If separation were to become permanent, I would move out of your place and look for a living situation that could accommodate my kids. For now, I really just want a small room for respite. I am a professional in the community and work long hours teaching, leading groups, and writing. Would prefer to move in July. What you are looking for is someone who is vacating their place for awhile and needing someone to live there. It could be one room in a house, a whole apartment or even a whole house. While cost effective, they are oftentimes hard to book, since your dates must coincide with availability and they generally want you to be there for the entire time they are gone. Another drawback is that you have to live amongst the stuff of other people, and in the case of room sublets, with other long term people you dont know. They also usually want to meet you first, which can be hard to do if you are coming from out of the city. You will oftentimes have your background checked. In effect, you have to apply and there are usually tons of applicants. Finally, they often want you to take care of pets or plants. We just moved into a house - where part of our deck is enclosed with a white picket fence, however the edge near our front door and front steps is not enclosed.
