| So we have a sweet house, seriously though. There is a ton of space not only in the room available but also in the whole rest of the house including the basement/garage where we keep our bikes, skis etc. We are also in a sweet location, 30th and Belmont. . . so why is the rent so cheap? We are clean so our landlord likes us and has not increased the rent over the past couple of years. We hope to keep it that way. The house rooms four. Here is a little information about the other three roommates. 29 year old male- passionate about politics and the environment, spends weekends outdoors skiing, surfing and mountain biking and occasionally can be found on top of Monkey Face. 29 year old male- knows everything about travelling especially in South America. Spends his weekends in the sauna or out around town. 30 year old female- records music and cooks vegies, spends her weekends out in the local music scene. We all have full time careers in our areas of interest. We are all super active, independent and, did I mention. . . clean. We are looking for a fourth who shares these qualities. | We are three musicians living in a cute old Victorian house a mile from downtown, close to NE Russell & MLK. The room available is the 2nd floor master bedroom at the front of the house. Its 160 square feet with a lot of light, a closet and a dresser built into the wall. There is also storage in a tiny crawlspace in the hallway, as well as in the basement. Were located close to the Waypost, Pizza A Go-Go, Goldrush Coffee, the Wonder Ballroom, and about a mile from Mississippi Avenue, Alberta Street or downtown. (This truly is an ideal location with great rent, and believe us that we love it.)We are two males (27 & 31) and one female (23). Two of us are vegan and one is an omnivore. Two of us play in a pop band that rehearses in the basement two nights a week, and the other is in a handful of musical projects and is gone most nights playing shows. I work nights, the ideal roommate would work days so wed each have the house to ourselves during non-work hours. Im gone from around 2pm until 2 am or so. House is freshly painted, new carpet, fenced back yard in a quiet neighborhood. Convenient location. I have a girlfriend that occasionally stays over for the weekend, and a 12 year old son that visits for weekends once every 3 months or so, or during holidays, but otherwise dont have a lot of coming and going. I spend probably every other weekend at her place out of town, so again theres plenty of personal time and space. Drinking, smoking ( outside ) okay as long as it stays under control and contained. A tenet was EVICTED for asking to see power bills and gas bills.Landlord had an illegal operation going on in the basement with a stranger visiting the house like clockwork daily to maintain the operation. He tried to keep it secret from the tenets upstairs but after being called out on it, tried to make it sound \"legal.\" Regardless of state laws, federal laws still made this against the law. The stranger had full access to the house, presumably whenever he wanted. Landlord also quite the shady character himself taking only cash while making ridiculous demands of the tenets, bringing shady ladies over, and not doing any upkeep to the house. There is also poor heating in the winter, the $400 room has no venting at all. Exposed nails in each of the $500 rooms, and dismal water pressure (at best). BEWARE of this SCUMBAG! Take my advice and steer clear of this one...youll regret moving in a week after doing so. | |||

I have 2 male dogs. The dogs are pups still, and wont always be here because I got them for my kids for xmas and theyll probably have them when theyre at their moms. We can talk about your pets. We love animals, but dont want to live in a zoo! lol!I do practice live music here, but this isnt a \"party house\". We have people over quite a bit, but youll pretty much always see the same faces. Just close friends with an occasional holiday or birthday event. The music practice is few and far between (full band stuff) and is usually short lived (2 to 3hrs or so). Almost all the musicians that work for me are professionals and we dont require much rehearsal. Just polishing up new stuff and knocking rust off the old stuff. And practice is almost always in the early afternoon to early evening time so as not to disturb neighbors and roomies, etc. Neighborhood is very friendly and family oriented, but the people around here party on the sidewalk on the weekends when its warm; and sometimes when its cold. lol! You may have guessed that were 420 friendly,and medically legal to be so; but you should know that NO harder stuff is ever here or utilized here. We all kinda frown upon most other recreational substances, at least in the house, and the ones we are an absolute no to should be obvious to the right person. Of course drinking is ok. We only just moved to Portland in August, and we really love it so far, but we need some help covering the expenses of the house. My current roommate (Sarah) and I (Katie) are both 23 and female. We went to school together at Iowa State University, and graduated from the Interior Design program there last May. We both have a love for the outdoors, and are especially interested in green/sustainable design. We like to hike (and I am getting into backpacking), bike (commute by bike or bus normally), enjoy a good beer or wine from time to time, etc. Though, we do also love to watch movies, and use our Netflix on a pretty regular basis. We are generally clean people, and the house is small but it is in good shape as it was repainted with new carpet, etc. when we moved in. We have a small yard with a hedge and a fence, and I would like to start a garden in the spring or as soon as possible.
