$400 ****Wandering Yogi seeking peaceful sanctuary for early July..... (Inner SE PDX) |

Hey there lovely peopleIm a peaceful fun laid back conscious person looking for a new living space beginning July 1st or soon therefter. What Id like to find is a room in a cozy home with like-minded conscious people where there is a shared intention to co-create a harmonious living space together. My life centers around spirituality and the divine and I do counseling work in the community offering low cost services to those who need support as well as meditation instruction and spiritual coaching. In order to make sure the bills get paid on time I also do freelance technology consulting although my primary work centers on healing practice and building community. I am committed to personal growth and spiritual practice and I meditate and do yoga and study daily although I am not into organized religion. I also dont put my trip or beliefs on others because I respect everyones unique path and lifestyle choices, Im friendly to almost all alternative lifestyles and practice some myself. In addition, Im a writer who maintains a blog and a zine and my writing focuses on spirituality, psychology and transformation. I live simply and have very little stuff and dont own a car so I dont need much space. I am mostly vegetarian although I do eat meat on rare occasions though never at home. I drink very little, just a good beer or glass of wine from time to time and the occasional puff of the green stuff but I keep a healthy clear state of mind for the most part. My approach to communal living which Ive done a great deal of involves open honest communication and a balance between connection and personal space. I would like to live with people who want to have some kind of connection without needing or forcing it to be more than it is. I have a strong community of friends but am always open to more and tend to think of roommates more as family when it works well. Music, gatherings, dance and enjoying life are important to me as well.....If youd like to find out more and connect and feel it out shoot me a message and we can meet. I am only interested in places that are very close in on the east side as I choose to live where I like to spend time.....peace Location: Inner SE PDXits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Hey thereIm in a situation where I have to move between the 1st and the 5th of July and although I have found a lot of places I have not yet found a place I want to live long term. So I am looking for a temporary living situation beginning July 1st or by July 5th, Im open to longer term if its a good fit. Location is very important to me and Im into living close to community and places I hang out which for me is inner SE. Im an ideal subletter or temporary housemate because I have very little stuff and no car. Ive been moving around a lot the last year or so and have done a couple of sublets all with great results. I work for myself doing counseling work in the community as well as freelance technology consulting so paying the bills is not an issue. Personally Im a friendly peaceful laid back person who is easy to get along with, I enjoy hanging out and am not a hermit in my room. Spirituality is also important to me and I meditate and do Yoga and read daily. I do my share to protect mother earth as well and am into sustainability, recylcing, composting etc.... Open communication and respect for my housemates is my practice, basically I really like living with people so I do this because its my choice rather than a necessity. If youd like to find out more shoot me a message and we can chat/meet and feel it out. I would also say Im looking for a peaceful open environment that doesnt have TV in the common areas or frequent loud parties at all hours although I am down for fun and celebration.peace Location: Inner SEits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

$400600 Returning to PDX for the summer (Inner NE/SE) |
Inner NE/SE |
|
2009-06-27 2:37PM |
|
400/600Returning to PDX for the summer Im a retired professional man who hopes to split my time between PDX and MX. After 35 years in PDX (mostly Hawthorne district) I have spent the last six months in Mexico. I will be back in PDX by July 1st and plan to stay at least through August. I still have a room or two of furnishings in PDX storage and two vehicles. An ideal situation would be a place I could rent 2-3 months a year and store stuff the rest of the year. Im committed to returning to PDX for at least the next three years while my daughter completes college. She will also be returning to PDX each summer and living with her mother. My ideal location would be between Lloyd Center and 82nd and Burnside. Between her home and the squash/tennis courts. One of my vehicles is a Westphalia camper and Ill probably spend a lot of the summer traveling in the PNW. Im active and wont be home much but enjoy my privacy. A separate entrance and private bathroom with shower would be great but I am flexible. Money is not an issue and I can provide excellent PDX references. Ill consider all types of arrangements including leaving my furnishings for a next renter, leaving the campervan for your use or just making a plan for this summer. I am easy to get along with and neat and clean but not excessively. I can live without a kitchen but would prefer at least refrigerator space. Im also 420 friendlyEager to hear from you,Dan cats are OK - purrrdogs are OK - wooof Location: Inner NE/SEits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |
$500 Need Studio, Efficiency, 1 BR, or Shared House by 7-15 (Close-In or Downtown Portland) |
Close-In or Downtown Portland |
|
2009-06-27 2:31PM |
|
Hello!I need a place to live by July 15th or soon thereafter--no later than August 1st. I am open to living alone in a studio, efficiency or 1 bdrm or living with up to 3 other people in a house. I have a housing grant from Transition Projects, Inc. located here in Portland at 475 NW Glisan St. They help homeless, low-income, etc. people get back on their feet. Grants are great in that payment is guaranteed and always on time. I have up to $500.00/month total for rent & utilities and also have access to grant funds which would cover my deposit and any application fees or move-in costs. My case manager, Janice will be happy to talk with you to answer any questions you may have. I will supply her contact information upon request. I would prefer to live either downtown, close to downtown or in the close-in neighborhoods that surround downtown on the SE side such as Sellwood, Alberta Arts, Hawthorne, etc. I dont want to live farther east than 40th St.A little about me: Im in my late 30s, single, have a BFA in studio art and have no children or pets (although I may be receiving a trained service animal in the future and am open to living w/ people who have pets). Im currently seeking social security disability benefits as well as a part-time job. I am laid back and very easy to get along with. I love to laugh, learn, knit, make handmade books, go on photo safaris, read at home or at the local park, watch movies--anything from horror to documentaries, listen to OPB, listen to music---anything from Johnny Cash to The Cure, from Vivaldi to Bob Dylan, do outdoorsy type stuff like hike the Gorge, fish, etc. Im an accomplished cook and had my own personal chef business for 4 years in Austin, TX and worked off & on in my moms catering business for 20 years. My dream is to have a regular stall at the Portland Saturday Market and buy an RV so I can go on the road during arts festival season to show & hopefully sell my work. I do a little gardening from time to time as well. I get along with people of all ages, male or female and from various backgrounds/cultures but probably would be happier living with people who lean a little to the left, have a sense of humor, are tidy but not going to give me the evil eye if I leave a soup bowl in the sink overnight once in a blue moon, are friendly and courteous, recycle and try to live by the Golden Rule. Im one of those people who always gets their security deposit back and try my best to leave a space in better shape than I found it. I have been in poor health for several years now but am under an amazing team of doctors care at a naturopathic clinic here in Portland and am slowly but surely feeling better every day. I do not require any special considerations for my disability, nor do I have any communicable diseases.I do have an eviction in my rental history but have a letter of explanation and medical records to show that it was unavoidable due to a growing medical problem. I have so far taken the first 3 classes in the \"Ready to Rent\" workshop and have found them to be very helpful. So if you feel some kind of kinship in reading this and want to offer me a bedroom in the house you rent or own a terrific garage apartment and would like to offer it to me, please contact me asap. I will give you my cell number after we email first.Take care & I hope to hear from you soon!cats are OK - purrrdogs are OK - wooof Location: Close-In or Downtown Portlandits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Hey there peeps.....Im looking for a new place to call home beginning by July 5th in inner SE Portland or thereabouts. Id like to find a cool laid back cozy place to spend the awesome Portland summer and probably longer if its a good fit. Im staying with friends after moving out a of long term sublet so Im ready to find a sweet place. A little about me.........well Im a friendly laid back kind of guy who gets along well with almost everyone. The work I do represents my passion and involves offering low cost informal counseling services to the community in coffee shops, parks and peoples homes. Im a counselor that does house calls ;) Working with people is my passion. In addition to counseling work I am also a writer focusing on things like mental health, psychology, spirituality, politics and other things. I consider my work very much heart based and creative. Im a person that finds a great deal of meaning in life and I enjoy it very much. Spirituality is important to me as well and I meditate and do yoga daily but dont subscribe to any organized religion. You could say Im a bit of an activist when it comes to health, spirituality and society and am active in working to bring about a more conscious compassionate society. Some of my other interests include many of the usual things like music (ah music all kinds of music), dance (mainly ecstatic and trance), the occasional drink (beer and wine mostly), the occasional puff (green), alternative medicine, gardening, zine making, sustainability, PDX coffee shops (for work and connection and awesome coffee), art, consciousness, connection and community and quite a bit more.Basically Id like to find a place with somewhat like-minded people who are pursuing their own paths passionately and are into some connection and community. I have very little stuff so only really need a small space. I am mostly vegetarian, never eat any meat at home and eat it only rarely. I dont watch TV either or own a car if that matters. A place with a good connected community vibe would be great, with open communication and a balance of connection and personal space. I really like living with people, its always a unique experience. If this sounds like it might be a fit hit me back and lets chat and feel it out..........peace Location: Inner SE PDXits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Hello! I am a responsible law student at Lewis and Clark and I am looking for a basement or garage apartment in a residential area. I have experience in caring for young children and teenagers. I would like to find a place in a home with children where some rent could be traded for childcare or supervising older kids when parents are out of town. I have excellent references from landlords and parents and hope I can find a family that is a match. I will be traveling to Portland in July to look at housing, and I would love to meet you if you think we can make an arrangement. 40 year old male enduring a separation from wife of ten years. Looking for a quiet place to hang my clothes and cook a meal. Of unknown duration; my guess is to the end of the year at least. I have a 2 and 4 year old, but dont foresee them visiting me at location. So far, I have always been meeting them at their home. If separation were to become permanent, I would move out of your place and look for a living situation that could accommodate my kids. For now, I really just want a small room for respite. I am a professional in the community and work long hours teaching, leading groups, and writing. Would prefer to move in July. $600 Unique Home Wanted (Convenient to PDX/LO) |
Convenient to PDX/LO |

We are a fun couple that are going through individual divorces, and are looking for a nice place to live convenient to downtown and LO. The ideal place would be unique (were not in to conventional apartment living), relatively private, walking distance to shopping, 1BR, and inexpensive. We love the idea of a small cottage, perhaps a guest home or mother-in-law quarters off of your main home, or any other scenario that gives us privacy, our own space to cook and live, and serenity. We are interested in hearing all options, and will offer some of our own to you upon mutual interest. Those options include a possible Rent to Own situation, reduction in rent for my sweat equity (I have personally completely remodeled my old home and would be more than willing to remodel your kitchen, bathroom, flooring, build new rooms, landscaping, etc) or any other options that seems reasonable to the both of us.Due to the impending divorces, money is tight right now, but suffice it to say that you will be dealing with two educated, friendly, professional and artistic people. We both have nice homes that we are leaving, so we want to ensure that the place we choose continues to be peaceful and quiet, quite simply, a home to us. We do not necessarily believe that this will be our final resting spot, but we intend to be there through the summer, in to the fall, and perhaps longer. If you feel that you have a place that would be a good fit for us, we would love to talk to you. Please remember that we need to have relatively quick access to Lake Oswego, so any place in West Linn, LO, SE PDX, along Macadam, perhaps Multnomah Village are all very good locations for us. Well be actively searching over the next week. Thanks for considering us and let me know if you feel that you may have the right solution for us. LOL.We are motivated to find something solid soon ( am a planner...). Please consider our post a serious inquiry to nice rental homes. Greetings! I must move in July (by July 14th, though the 1st would be better). My roommates just got married, and when they get back from their honeymoon theyd like their house to themselves. Hopefully the rest of this is straightforward enough.Im looking for any good, long-term living situation with positive people that clean up after themselves in common spaces and dont feel at liberty to eat my food or use my belongings. Im a very generous person, but I prefer to bestow my benevolence at will rather (by making dinner/tea/coffee/breakfast/etc., for instance) than have it requested of me, if you know what I mean. I guess that means that I want to share on my own terms (without being expected to), and people that tend to ask [often] to borrow my things or eat my food will inevitably feel like space invaders (pun intended).Ideally, wed become friends, but thats certainly not a requirement. As a romantic who appreciates all aspects of life and is endeared to all kinds of people, I will end up greatly appreciating whatever living situation I end up in, whether its more on the communal end, one that allows for more solitude, or anything inbetween.Im currently working on my masters degree in Library Science.Im 25 (though inwardly Im older), single, straight, omnivorous, agnostic, open, respectful, and considerate. I dont smoke or do drugs, but I wouldnt mind living with outdoor smokers or people who enjoy an occasional spliff. I drink light and socially. I lead a quiet life free of drama and theatrics while remaining adventurous. Character is all that matters to me in regards to myself and others, which makes me not just a malleable human being, but also an excellent roommate. Im one of those people that cleans on autopilot, so I like things to be ungrimy and tidy, and I dont want the hassle of things being perpetually broken around the house. If youre sloppy/slobby we likely wont be an ideal fit, but on the other hand I have done a sort of maid-service in lieu of utilities before, with happy results.A fenced yard would be absolutely great, particularly if it had a patio or porch, as I like to sit outside and eat breakfast/drink coffee or tea/think/read/play with my 3 year old Catahoula Leopard/Mini-Australian Shepherd, Amity. My dog is probably the friendliest/goofiest/sweetest/most submissive dog youll ever meet. Shes not barky or whiny, she doesnt chew, scratch, or dig, and she obeys orders. She loves all animals, even cats, having grown from puppydom with a kitten (they were best friends), and then later living with two full grown cats. I think I can objectively say Ive never met a better dog, as Ive raised quite a few. Also, pretty much everyone I know has begged me to dog-sit for her, and I think shes been the clincher in a number of roommate situations. Shes great.Hardwood floors are preferred, but some less hideous carpeting might be OK, as long as it isnt depressing and theres a vacuum handy. My own bathroom would be great, but thats certainly not a requirement. I do have a bedroom set (bed, wardrobe, dresser, nightstand) and a desk, but beyond some outdoor rugs, some dishes (particularly lots of tea components), and a few boxes to store, I dont have much stuff to add.I usually pay rent three months at a time, and always on time.WiFi/laundry/shower and indoor space for my bicycle are necessities, as is a walkable neighborhood.Like the title says, Id like to pay $500 flat (i.e. utilities included) or less; $550 at the very most, including wintry months. The flat rate is ideal-but-negotiable, though I think oil heating is definitely out of the question without it.Ive got references if you need them. If all of this is sounding good and you want to learn more about what Im like/what I like/see if we run in the same circles: myspace.com/sweetadeleine, facebook.com/sweetadeleineFeel free to email me with any inquiries, and please be as detailed as possible about the residence in question, including providing an address.Thanks!AdeleineP.S. Were looking for a metaphorical sunny place to call home. Although big windows with lots of light for plants would be nice. 25 and 32 yo active males who live leisurely lifestyles (not to be confused with lazy). Were active and athletic: into hiking, biking, camping and backpacking, road trips and day trips, cross country skiing, white water rafting and canoeing. We enjoy preparing home cooked meals rather than dining out. Were friendly to people and pets, but sometimes find humor in peoples silly behavior. People watching entertains us. Thrift shopping excites us. Gardening, plants, and trees strengthen our spirit. We consider ourselves open minded with the ability to empathize with others. Sunday conversations with a pot of coffee keep us grounded. Were self employed and internally motivated. Were Queer; were hetero, omnivore and 420 friendly. We usually enjoy a cocktail after work, but rarely more than 2. We travel with 10yo canine, who is often described by friends as a very good dog, and a charming kitty cat. Were not into a scene. Were looking for room to grow and play and work. Our trades include carpentry and property and animal caretaking. A shop space would be ideal, as would room for a large garden. Were open to a shared housing situation, but would prefer a place to call our own.Interested?Brian and BrandonWookie and Toketeecats are OK - purrrdogs are OK - wooof Location: a dirt roadits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Looking to get out of your lease? Seeking 1br apartment (Inner NE or very close in SE) |
Inner NE or very close in SE |

2009-06-26 9:42AM |

I am looking for a one-bedroom apartment (NO SHARES). My move in date is flexible - mid-July through mid-August would be fine. I would be the only person living there. I have two well-behaved cats, so it must be cat friendly. $650-750 range - $775 is my absolute maximum, and it would have to be a really great place. Preferred neighborhoods: Irvington, Laurelhurst, Belmont, maybe Alberta or Hawthorne. I used to work in real estate in NYC so Im very sensitive to crappy landlords. The apartment doesnt have to be a palace, but it must be sound and well-maintained, and if there is a problem the landlord/management should be responsive. I strongly prefer a 1-br over a studio, but I would consider a large studio if it had a LARGE bathroom with a window (having cats means sometimes you need to lock them out of your bedroom at 5am).I am a very quiet, responsible tenant. I do most of my socializing outside the house, and Im a good neighbor. My cats are indoor only, so they will not be bothering anybody. I like peace and quiet when I am at home. I am employed at a great job, and I have very good credit and a perfect payment history. I will happily pay reasonable deposits, including a pet deposit, but not \"pet rent\" (which is ridiculous).cats are OK - purrr Location: Inner NE or very close in SEits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |
Health-Conscious Mama looking for home (SE/NE PDX) (pic)

About us:Me, a 28 yr. old health-conscious, creative single mama/self-employed health counselor/cook/gardener/music lover/yogini/avid student of life and my 9 week old beautiful, calm son are looking for a loving community/home in SE/NE Inner PDX. We are quiet by nature (he a little less quiet than me given that he is a baby ☺), love being outdoors (hiking, camping, walking through the forest and parks, gardening), and are fond of animals. I grew up with many dogs and cats and thus have no problem with animals in a home and would love living with them as long as they are well-behaved, clean, gentle and good with babies. We do not have any pets of our own, though. I cook almost every meal (organic, local, seasonal food whenever possible) and we enjoy cooking and sharing meals with others and would love to be part of a community/home that enjoys this too. We are not vegetarian (he the plump breastfed babe) but respect others’ ethics around this, as I used to be vegan and macrobiotic. And we recycle whenever possible. I used to make kombucha and would like to do this again, as well as bake bread and other delicious domestic pursuits. We tend to be early-risers and enjoy quiet time in the mornings (without tv or loud music); this also means that we go to bed early and would appreciate living with housemates who either do the same or are quiet in the evenings. I have a steady meditation and yoga practice, and I can tell that he will like this too. For now, he just watches. I am a photographer, crafter, reader, writer, knitter and traveler. I recently lived in Mexico for two years, working as a nutritional counselor at a women’s retreat center, and apprenticing with a local herbalist/midwife/wise woman. And yes, I speak Spanish. I’d love to learn the guitar and would be interested in living with people who enjoy playing music and doing art projects around the home. I also study herbal and natural medicine and make tinctures, salves, lotions and teas.*We are ready to move as soon as possible, but hopefully by the beginning of August. The Ideal Housemates:We are looking for a home with people who are respectful, loving, low-drama, conscious, kind, compassionate, open-minded, creative, responsible, clean/tidy (but not anally so), good listeners, patient, participatory, friendly, non-smokers/drinkers and honest. Having small gatherings is fine, but we’re not into living in a party atmosphere.(This is beginning to sound like my list for the perfect man…but that’s another story)The Ideal Home:The home itself will have lots of natural light, preferably east and north facing windows, a garden space, a private bath with tub, a large kitchen with good quality, working appliances, as I teach cooking classes and want to use the space about once a month for this purpose. It also will have a washer and dryer, hardwood floors, wi-fi, happy energy to it, cheery colors on the walls, and/or the ability to be creatively decorated. It’d be great if it has an outdoor seating area, like a front porch w/ hammocks or backyard. We’d like to in a quiet neighborhood, close to grocery stores and public transportation (although I do have a car), and it’d be amazing to be near a New Seasons or co-op, as those are our favorites! Oh! And the library. Our favorite areas of SE/NE are Laurelhurst (Belmont and Hawthorne), Clinton/7-Corners and Alberta Arts. Our payable price range is from $300-600 for a room.**Ok…this is getting to be ridiculously long, so I’ll just close by saying:There are a lot of people out there who have posted ads for roommates and houses that would fit these requirements, such as the bounty and blessing of living in Portland. My son and I are good people, looking for our “family” within the SE/NE Portland community, and while most people do not consider living with a baby, it could be the best thing that ever happened to you…wink.wink. We hope to hear from you soon!Contact: Kate @ 971-238-0798 or flowtome@yahoo.comcats are OK - purrrdogs are OK - wooof Location: SE/NE PDXits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

I am looking for a place where the rent is $500 or under. I am a single, white, 24 year old, employed FT (7am-3:30pm M-F) woman who is looking to move out of my current apartment. I have a roommate now but our roommate relationship is not working out since he cant seem to learn how to be considerate and keep the noise down after 11pm. Every night I get woken up around 2am because he is drunk or has friends over. My current rent is $450 and I pay about $200 for utilities right now. So I need to move out pretty quick! Looking for a place that would be a studio or maybe rent a basement out of a house or something. I do have a kitty, hes an old fart, he needs to come with me wherever I go so please email me housing that will accept cats.I live a clean lifestyle, dont drink or do drugs. Have been at my job since November 2008 and worked at OHSU prior to my current job. Please please please send me ads that will apply to me. A CONSIDERATE roommate maybe applicable but I dont think I want to live with anyone else for the moment. I work off 122nd/Sandy area so a place close to there would be great. Thanks for your time in advance.cats are OK - purrr Location: NE Pdxits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

I am planning on moving out soon and none of my friends seem interested because they like coasting off of mommy and daddy. I am looking for a male room mate around my age (18-22). Yes, I am a lady, I just would prefer the room mate to be a guy because if it were a girl, i feel they would have a load of dramma and baggage and im not into that. Plus I get along with guys better because theyre more laid back and down to earth, as am i. So send me an email, a little about yourself (i.e. where you went to school, what you like to do for fun, do you like to party etc), a picture, and what you have to offer (i.e. furniture, appliances etc). I am looking to move out into an apartment in Vancouver, somewhere close to Clark/ Downtown Vancouver/cascade park. If you drink, hey, thats a plus. And if youre pretty tidy thats a plus too. Please, do not have: Kids Psycho exs Also, please do not do drugs of any kind unless of course its only on occasion meaning weekends or holidays. and btw 4:20 AM/PM is not a national holiday so it doesnt count lol but the date should be. My names Joey, and I so badly want out of my current situation. I live in Olympia, Washington. My friends and I have come to an unprofessional conclusion that this city is a rut, and if youre lucky to get out, you will then begin to progress. Im at the point of recognizing the hamster wheel that is my life, and I just want out. I want to be in this city. Right now Im at the Hotel Monaco. This is my second trip to PDX and I really feel like this is where Im supposed to be. Im looking for someone with an extra room. I will be quiet, help with chores, and be respectful. I have very little money, so Im looking for a very generous person (at least until Im able to find work and have the financial stability to help). Honestly, I have no expectations other than, if G-d wants me in Portland, a path will be made. If not, the doors will close. I am looking to rent a 1 or 2 BR apartment (or small cottage) up to $800; however, due to an eviction (fall 2008), I am unable to even apply for apartments with managed companies. It was my fault, so I did take responsibility - the debt is paid off and I have changed my spending/saving/planning habits. However, my current contract in Hillsboro is ending this summer, and I am looking at a position in the Wilsonville area. As a landlord, I can see why you would not want to rent to me, but I am more than willing to provide an extra deposit if you would consider renting to me. Really, Im just looking for rad people to live with. I miss the sense of community that comes with having roommates. Maybe Ive just had really good experiences or I require constant social stimulation, but living at home with my parents (I just moved back to Portland) is not cutting it.Im looking to move in beginning of July.It seems to be that all the super affordable housing on CL is in some communal, vegan, peace and love sort of house off Hawthorne.Seeing as how this is the sort of environment Im looking for, Im willing to convert to Vegan. I am open to locaton as my work is home based most of the time. I have 2 Chihuahuas who are my life and one cat who needs to be outdoors. In my current situation, I am easily 20 ft from my neighbor/landlady, so close quarters are not a problem if there is consideration. No room shares, I dont think. I am looking for something more amenable. I have good credit and probably will be with the situation for a very long time. I just need more space and a happy place to call home. Im pretty isolated right now and Id like to change that. Oh, Im in my 50s and Im female. Looking to sublet 1000 to 3000 Sq. Ft of simple commercial warehouse space in the Beaverton Hillsboro area not too far off Hwy 26. I am a machinery dealer that stores metal working machinery temporarily until I sell it. It would be nice if some power was available to at least demo a machine. $350 Quiet, Clean Student Looking for Room to Rent (N, St. Johns, NE or SE) |

Hi, I am an almost 19 year old student looking for a room to rent within a reasonable (like 45 minutes at the most) bus or MAX ride of downtown Portland (I am going to the Art Institute of Portland). I am super easy going, not picky about who I live with at all, pretty quiet, considerate, I clean up after myself (and have been cleaning up after my current roommate a lot which I dont mind haha), get along with everyone, not allergic to cats or dogs but dont have any pets, dont smoke but its cool if you do, have a steady income and my parents would help me out if I was in a pinch so I will always pay rent (on time!). As far as rent goes 350-400 is pretty much my limit, and my ideal move in time would be mid or late July as my current lease is up July 31st. So if I sound like someone you would like to live with shoot me an email! Location: N, St. Johns, NE or SEits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Hello! My name is Dani. My landlady wants to move back into her house when my lease is up on August 14th, so my two dogs, cat, and I are looking for a new place to call home. Right now, I live in St. Johns in North Portland. I like North Portland, but am willing to consider any area that is relatively close to downtown (e.g. west of I-205) and near public transit. My needs:- private yard (5 fence or fence-able)- cat & large dog-friendlyI am willing to pay a pet deposit for my two dogs and cat. All have been spayed or neutered and are over 3 years of age. No one sprays or marks, and all have been house-broken or box-trained for years.I recently graduated with a masters degree in architecture from the University of Oregon (more about that on my website: http://iamdezigner.com), and am currently working as a supervisor for the federal government. I have excellent credit, and am looking to find a landlord who appreciates receiving his or her full rent on-time, every time. (I would buy my own home, but I owe too much in grad school loans to qualify for a mortgage. I would, however, consider a lease option or an owner-financed house to buy.)Im looking for a house or duplex with a private fenced yard for either just myself (e.g. an in-law unit in the $500/month range) or with housemates (e.g. a 3-bed 2-bath house for around $1100). The rent depends on the number of bedrooms & bathrooms. Ideally, it is close to public transit and no further from downtown Portland than I-205. Even better would be a place within walking distance of a grocery store and restaurants. (Though I do have a car, its nice to not have to drive everywhere.)Looking to start the lease/agreement anytime between August 1 and August 14. Am willing to consider any agreement term from month-to-month up to a year lease. Thanks for your time and consideration. Youre welcome to pass this ad along to anyone you know who is looking for a responsible tenant or an owner-financed buyer.cats are OK - purrrdogs are OK - wooof Location: Portland west of I-205its NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

While living in OR (Portland) for about the last seven years, I have had to rent various houses and apartments. Several times Ive had to try and find a roommate to occupy my spare room to help me supplement my expense money. I discovered a sites service that was very helpful and supportive in finding me the perfect roommate for the rooms Ive had to rent out in the past.So you may want to try out this site also! You can post a Free ad for your available room. And with the ability to up-load pictures of the room that your trying to occupy, along with being able to indicate exactly where its located (right down to the address, neighborhood and cross street), as I discovered, hundreds of possible tenants will be viewing the room that you have for rent.Heres a link to the site:http://yourrentmate.comGood luck renting your room.Jamieits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

So heres the skinny.Im looking for a room to rent starting around the first week of August or maybe the last week of July, as my current roommate is moving to Georgia (the state, not the country). I am currently paying in the $350 range to split an apartment, and am trying to find similar rent in a house situation. I like living with other people and I make an awesome housemate. I am: -a 24-year-old female with a Bachelors Degree-employed full-time (7:00 - 4:00 Mon-Fri)-down to earth -creative and artsy-clean-respectful-easygoing-positive-excitable and enthusiastic-a casual/social drinker-a non-smokerI like:-cooking-music & art-making things-puttering-being in a comfortable living space-being in good company-making and sharing food-good conversation-a sense of community and camaraderie-the random adventure-trying new things-riding my bike-lists-confetti cakeI have:-dedication to household chores & responsibilities-a steady reliable income-a boyfriend who lives about an hour away-some potted plantsI dont have:-pretense-pets (but I love them)-a TV-an iPod-a computer-complicated needsId like to live someplace with some charm--I love the creaky-funky-crooked allure of old houses. I currently live in inner-SE and I work downtown, so anywhere with a simple bus commute to work is ideal. SE, NE, SW, NW -- It really doesnt matter so long as theres public transit in the vicinity. Anyhow, to wrap it up: Im really open and friendly and Id rather not live by myself or in someplace I cant afford. Yadda yadda, what else? Pick me! Couple seeking close in private spot asap |

Hi, we are seeking a spot asap for july, as our planned sublet fell through(the actual landlord vetoed the idea of a sublet last minute). So, thanks for reading! We hope to find a good spot to relax and work in. Weve lived in eugene and are thinking of relocating to portland as I work there a fair bit(were both in film production), so we gave our notice and are out of our rental by the 1st in Eugene. Were planning on just checking out portland in july and then possibly getting a permanent spot there later. We wont have much stuff with us, so furnished is best on our end. Were doing a bit of summer travel after so were not going to be bombarding anyone with boxes! We hope to find somewhere that is pleasant, close in, and clean. We have excellent references as well. Wed hope to find somewhere on the less expensive side of things, what can you offer? One thing, we prefer privacy(were both writers). Were open to shared situations if there is something like an attached building that wed share a kitchen or something like that. Were very respectful, quiet, and clean. Ok, thanks much! $450 Need A Comfortable Room Near Transportation (PDX) |

Hello, I need to find a roommate soon. Im looking for a place very close-in Portland near transportation and a grocery store. Preferably located in a high density area and close to the MAX. Let me tell you a bit about myself. Im 35, male, single, no kids, professional living in NW downtown Portland. Im am currently seeking employment and collecting a stable income. Im attending PSU and continuing to look for full time work. Im primarily looking for a roommate/s in order to reduce my cost of living to an affordable and sustainable amount. Id also like to have a roommate/s that I can communicate with and enjoy some time together cooking and doing whatever. Im an avid outdoor person who loves Oregon territory. I go snowboarding at least once a week. Once Spring time comes around I like all the outdoor activities, although I hardly ever get to because I dont have a car. Im a pretty tidy person and respect others property/domain. I can provide you with references and proof of income stability. I can commit to a lease if need be. Im the kind of person who believes in the integrity of a handshake. Id like to find a place that I can call home not just a place to sleep. It would be nice to live with people around 25-40 or something like that. I dont mind living in a house with alot of people as long as there is space and enough bathrooms. Id prefer only to live with a few people at the most. Id rather live with one woman than a fraternaty house. Whatever though, I open to find out whats out there.I would even be up to exchange work for rent if you have a busiiness of your own. I can do all kinds of stuff. I am a professional who paved the way with very hard work. Great in the office and with my hands. Id even help you out with a DIY project. Mine are just as good as the pros if not better. Just an idea. I dont need to exchange work for rent and Id be willing to help out around the place just because i would be living there. The rent I would like to pay is around $400 per month. Thanks! $500600 Female Seeking Housing -- July or August 1 (NE/N PDX) |
NE/N PDX |
|
2009-06-24 2:47PM |
|
I’m a 36 year old female who has lived in PDX for nearly 12 years. I’m a teacher and I spend a lot of time doing stuff outdoors – mostly biking, hiking, kayaking and x-c skiing. I’m big into recycling and thrifting, and I’m interested in local politics. I have a fair number of houseplants. I don’t have a lot of common space furniture (just a coffee table, in fact).I’m open to any number of housing arrangements: traditional shared housing, renting the upstairs of your house, renting a mother-in-law apartment, etc. I like living with both men and women; in fact, I think a mix is ideal. Since I bike a lot, I prefer to live relatively \"close in\".I’m a non-smoker and I’m allergic to some cats. I’m definitely a light sleeper, so my housemates would need to be relatively quiet people (or at least sensitive to my sleeping habits). I’m not a huge partier, though I’ll have people over a few times a year. I’m not the kind of person to have my boyfriend over every night.Let’s see… what else? I’m hoping that my monthly costs won’t exceed around $500-600 (including utilities). I’m an omnivore, but I don’t eat much meat and rarely if ever prepare it in the home. I clean up after myself and pitch in around the house, and Im open to cooking together on occasion or having a beer on the porch. Of course, I do have my own life and value my down time/privacy, too.Oh! One important thing is that Im seeking a house with a decent-sized basement (ideally) or garage in which to build my kayak.** I have one 14’ kayak already, and I have a kit for a 17’ wooden kayak. The project doesn’t take up as much space as it sounds – and the boat definitely won’t once it’s completed – but the kit is currently at a friend’s and I’m eager to have it close at hand for completion. :-) I also have a bicycle and will need space to store boxes. If there’s anything important I haven’t covered, please email with questions. I look forward to hearing from you!-Julie** If everything about me sounds great except for a space to build my kayak, please go ahead and contact me. I dont want my kayak to get in the way of what could otherwise be an ideal housing situation. If absolutely necessary, Ill rent an off-site space for it. 3+ Bedroom Home in Lake Oswego (Lake Oswego) |
Lake Oswego |

We are a very responsible couple with a 20 month old son and two dogs. We are both professionals - Charley works in commercial remediation and marketing industries and Emma is preparing for July 2009 Oregon State Bar Examination. Our 20 month old is enrolled to start private school/toddler program in July 2 days a week and we plan come mid-fall he will be going 4 days a week while Emma works 4 days. We have two dogs. Emma is deaf and relies on cochlear implant to hear. Badger is her service dog and works for her when she has her implants off - alerts her to our son, doorbell, phone, etc. Jordan is Badgers companion dog for play, company when Badger is not working/Emma is not at home during the day. Both dogs are well trained - professionally, etc. come with cards, etc. Badger is going on 6 and Jordan is over 3 years. We want to rent a home in Lake Oswego for 12 month period, maybe more, until economy settles and Emma is working at least 1 year so that we can locate our purchase between school and both of our work locations. We have strong references, good rental history, etc. We take care of the home and are willing to do yardwork, small maintenance/upkeep, etc. We just want a place that we can change the environment (e.g., paint with your permission and preview of color, nothing extreme, but be able to hang some of our art work/photos and a place our son can grow in the next year). We want some yard space it is a must. The home must be in Lake Oswego, preferably toward downtown. Safety is a huge issue for us - no mold, lead issues in the home, well cared for, up-to-date, etc. is important to us. We want minimum 3 bedrooms, 4 if there is no bonus room or an office. Minimum 2 full baths, preferably minimum 2.5 baths.Prefer to start rental August 1.Thanks! Location: Lake Oswegoits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Looking for a room for cheap in hopefully the North East/East Area of Portland. I am currently taking jobs under the table, so I have very limited funds. I am just looking for a place for cheap to save up and finally get a studio of my own. I am in recovery, so folks who drink/\"smoke\" arent really ideal. I am very clean, and will most definitly do my fair share of chores/cleaning up. I am very active, biking/going to vegan feeds/going all around town for recovery/volunteering/doing under the table jobs/god knows what else. I am going back to school in fall for my sociology degree, so during the school year I will most likely be in the library or cramming hours in for studying. I am also queer, trans pre-op FTM, so I can handle really any kind of person with a diverse background. I have 20 years sales, marketing and management experience, excellent coustomer relations skills. Back in the 80s I took an Apartment Management postion but unknown to me it was a drug property, cleaned that problem up and turned the property into a very nice place to live. I am not interested in doing that again, so please be upfront about the type of complex you are wishing to have managed. I also have bookkeeping skills and am willing to refresh my knowledge of land lord tenet laws.If you are looking for a manager that will keep the property looking nice, turn the apartments over quickly and use creative marketing to keep them full, I would love to speak with you.I do have a dog and cat so a pet friendly complex is needed. $400500 Looking for female roommate... (SE or NE Portland) |

Hi, I’m a 23 (almost 24) year old female looking for a female roommate of similar age to either move in with or find an apartment with. I’m currently living in SE Portland and a full time graduate student. I’m also a Christian and would especially like to find a roommate with similar beliefs and lifestyle. About me…I love to spend time with my friends and family, watch movies and play games, take pictures and travel, spend time outdoors, learn and study, and just hang out. I like things clean and organized, but I’m not super picky. And, because of my busy schedule, when I’m home I spend most of my time studying and relaxing.I would like to find a place in SE or NE Portland and move out the beginning or end of August, but I’m flexible. It is more important to me to find a good fit as a roommate and friend. So…please e-mail me at the address below if you’re interested. I would love to meet for coffee and find out more about you.~northern.cali.girl@hotmail.com Location: SE or NE Portlandits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

We are a super-friendly and relaxed couple with several years living together and with others looking for a great house to join. About us:Emily is super-crafty and enjoys re-purposing found objects into just about anything. She loves cooking all kinds of delicious meals and listening to a wide variety of music while doing this, but jazz is best for culinary creations. An avid beer fan and recent homebrewer she enjoys game nights, playing in the dirt (gardening), bike rides, and kicking it ol skool. Chris is a dorky music lover with unmanageable hair. He loves riding his bike to house shows (of many different styles), drinking tasty beers with friends and doing a bit o dumpstering on the way home. His attempts to teach himself instruments are ongoing and he loves playing music with others. We both enjoy having discussions with interesting folk, brewing our own beer, radical politics and their implementation in daily life, and community involvement. We are both vegan and would love to live with similarly veggie folk who care about the impact their choices have on the world. About you:Fun, easy-going people of any size, shape, color, orientation etc., who share some of our interests and would be more than just \"a roommate.\" We are looking for folks that we can play dominoes with, ride bikes with, share meals with and so on. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon. cats are OK - purrrdogs are OK - wooof Location: Portlandits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Greetings to those searching for another human to occupy your house! I really dont have many specific wants in this search except that potential housemates would be respectful of each other, non-judgmental, loving, comical, and understanding of the fact that Im trying to be all of these things myself. Also, I dont have a dog but if you do thats great. I drink lots of coffee, listen to music all times possible (punk is my first love), dabble in photography, read, and will be starting PCC in the fall. The Life Aquatic is my favorite movie. Im a 20 year old lass, friendly and good at listening. Im a Christian but nonreligious or pretentious, ask me about it. I like baking and being a homemaker at times, its real special. Thats quite enough, thank you for reading. Peace.cats are OK - purrrdogs are OK - wooof Location: SE/NEits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

I am a 26 y.o. woman who is looking for a room in a nice house, preferably an upstairs or attic room. I recently moved into an apartment on my own after living with roommates for the past few years, and its just not working out. I am paying too much rent and I miss having people around. Would prefer to live within a half hour to downtown by bike. I would love a nice yard and garden, or garden potential. I work 8-5 Monday-Friday, and tend to go to bed around 10:30 or 11 on weekdays, so a big party house wouldn’t work so well. I do like small get togethers and am fine with the occasional party. I don’t smoke but drink on occasion. I love cooking, movies, books, riding and working on my bikes, camping and travelling when I get the chance, etc. I am pretty tidy and considerate of others. Im a vegetarian, and try to eat local/organic, although I occasionally cant live without some cheetos. I would love to live with other women in my age range, but am open minded to other options. We don’t have to best friends or anything, but some friendliness and a sense of community is always welcome. I don’t have any pets, but love cats, so Id be thrilled to move in with one (or more). I don’t have to be out of my current apartment until the end of July, so it probably won’t work if you need someone right away. Please write back and tell me some stuff about yourself and your home (location, rent, etc.). I can pay around $350-500, depending on place. Thanks! Finding a suitable reasonably priced place in Portland is really hard. And finding suitable roommates is even harder. So I am starting my search early. I am looking to move at the end of July.About Me: I am a 29 year old female, I have two cats, I am employed (with the same employer for the past two years), and I will be a student in the fall. I enjoy painting, sketching, reading, cooking, gardening and volunteering. I am currently volunteering about twice a month. I am Liberal like in my thinking but not extreme. I dont smoke, I dont use drugs and I rarely drink. What I am looking for: Person or persons that are employed, responsible, clean, and respectful. I cant tolerate heavy drinkers, partiers, smokers, slobs, or 420. I am sorry love you potheads I just cant live with you. I do prefer to have a female house mate but that is a preference not a deal breaker. I was lucky enough to have a great living situation where we all got along, kept the house clean and even had movie night once a week. I would really like to find some roommates that could have a functioning household. Good Luck . Happy Hunting!cats are OK - purrr Location: Portland close in its NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

We are a family consisting of Husband, Wife(pregnant) and a two year old son. We are currently homeless, However have the funds and are able to pay first, last, security deposit, etc. etc... Our homelessness is rooted in an injury at work that led me through surgery, rehabilitation and now partially disabled. We have an income that will allow us to be able to pay $600- $800 for rent and stay on top of all our other bills. We dont have really good credit(its not real bad either) We are looking for something in Gresham, Preferably close to Mt. Hood College since I will be taking classes there this next semester. Two or three bedroom is what we are hoping for but at this point we are ready to jump on anything we deem as safe, clean and healthy for the family. We have been down a hard road and can finally see the light at the end of a tunnel, and are looking for someone that has a vacancy, wants to fill it as soon as possible, and are willing to give us a chance. If you are the One than please contact us at (503)208-0376 or via this ad, craigslist. Location: Greshamits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Hi, My wife and I with our 3 kids our looking for a 3 bedroom house to rent in the Tualatin Area. 2 of our kids are under the age of 3, so we are looking for something that had a nice fenced back yard where the family can safely play. We have 2 very lazy cats, they are both de-clayed and have been indoor/outdoor cats their whole life. we would like some around 1400sqft or larger if possible. We are a very quite family just looking for a better place to live. We would like to be able to move in the next 30 days if possilbe. We would prefer a single level ranch style house but we are willing to consider just about anything as long as it is an actual house not an APARTMENT. we would also need at least a single/double car garage. We have all of our own lawn care equipment right now and taking care of landscaping and maintaining exterior appearance is not an issue. If you have something that might fit for us, we would love to come take a look. We would be also willing to do a least option to buy as well.thank you for your help and Gold Bless.cats are OK - purrr Location: Tualatin Areaits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |

Looking for a small bungalow/older house 2-3 bedrooms for under $1100, for 2 people and 2 kitties. We are mid 30s (male/female plutonic BFFs and artistic collaborators), full time working folks (professional) that also play music and travel frequently. We are responsible and respectful tenants and would like a solid home base in an older home to add love to the ages. Hardwood floors, odd fixtures, character, and a basement perhaps is a plus. We both hail from the big city, so being close to coffee shops, restaurants etc. is near perfect. Clinton/Belmont/Hawthorne/Tabor area in SE and much of NE before the stretches of Lombard are desirable. We are looking in advance to properly plan for our current landlord and transition to a new place, as we have been in the current residence for 3 years.cats are OK - purrr Location: Inner SE/NE its NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests |
