It powers up, but I no longer have speaker for it so cannot test to see if it works. I last used it in the mid 90's and it worked fine.
The following is a description I found of the XR-700, so should be similar (though less quality or features) to the XR-700C that I have for sale.
The Peavey XR-700 powered mixer is a dual channel, powered mixer with two amplifiers and output channels. Peavey documentation describes the mixer as "get the job done" equipment without useless bells and whistles, or what Peavey describes as "gingerbread" features. The simple, dual channel mixer would probably prove too outdated for use in most modern professional settings, but Peavey says that it was one of the highest quality mixers of its day.

It's predominantly stayed in my non-smoking home.
