This is a fairly rare 1996 Japanese made Fender Telecaster Custom. You see them occasionally on Ebay, but not very often. The specific Japanese model number is TLG-70P. I believe they were only made from around 1995-1997. This one is definitely a 1996 as it has the gold Fender 50th anniversary decal on the back of the head stock that all the 1996 Fenders had. It has a \"U\" serial number and Made in Japan on the lower back of the neck. They made this model in just 2 colors, black or white....both with gold hardware, vintage style split-shaft tuners, double bound body with beautiful pearloid binding, 6 section brass bridge, early 60s style oval (U shape) neck profile with 7.25\" fretboard radius and 1.625\" nut width (nice, skinny and fast neck!) and matching headstock with gold lettering (not a decal). They use the TL-Vintage pickups and standard 3 way switching. The white color ages beautifully into an almost creamy yellowish hue that is really nice.It would be hard to find one in this kind of condition, which would be considered as near-mint A couple very tiny indentations in the finish on the rear of the body that you really have to look to find, and the gold plating on half of the neck plate has tarnished. But other than that its absolutely gorgeous. Very light wear on the frets. High quality pictures available upon request.I bought this mainly because it was so beautiful and intended to just keep it as an investment, thinking it might increase in value. I have 2 other electrics that I actually play. It absolutely kills me to sell this, but Ive got the acoustic bug bad and need to raise some money to finance the purchase of a new Larrivee. If you happen to have a Larrivee L-03R, then maybe we can work out a trade of some kind.The guitar retailed for $749. I even have the original price/model hang tag.
