The boat is located in las vegas, but can be delivered anywhere-----------------------------------THE IDEA The idea for the boat was the result of the intuition, rugged individuality, race boat and race engine experience, shear determination, stubborn independence and ability ask questions and negotiate assistance where and when needed. While compiling data for the final design, the beam and LOA were the results of Rigneys association with race boats and expert advice from friends and associates. Key factors such as \"the fact that there would be stability with length and lots of controllable power.THE HULL The hull is a result of a one-off effort. The glass is hand-laid and is S glass and is laminated with AME4000 resin in a tri-axial schedule. It has four stringers, two of which are full length and two are three-quarters length. The engine and drive train are supported on the center with two full length stringers and the engine compartment is reinforced with steel. McHugh Composites has reinforced the transom and stem area with carbon fiber over composite material. The entire top (deck, etc.) is framed with .5\"EMT thin walled tubing and is totally welded together and is covered with .033\" 3003 aluminum sheet and the glass in the capsule is .125\" Lexan plastic. The wing is 6061 T6 and is .072\". has been built as sturdy as possible with total concern going for the minimum weight standard.SAFETY TECH Technically and statistically speaking, if nothing else, this jet boat will definitely be a suitable radar deflector in any weather with its top half constructed with aluminum. As many safety concerns as possible have been addressed with the rigging and engineering of this craft. The team is equipped with Halon fire extinguishing equipment. The boat is also affixed with RJS five point seat harnesses that will bind the boat crew to the state-of-the-art Attwood SAS shock absorbing seats. The boat also has well placed strobe lights and PIAA one hundred plus watt front running lights and the team has chosen paint colors that contrast with water to increase visibility. There is also O2 equipment with a psi gauge and dual lines coming from the regulator, mounted between the seats.DRIVETRAIN The boats drivetrain began as a conventional standard duty package. The pump was completely Berkley. The engine started out as a tad bit spicier mix as it was originally an L88 engine. Through an evolutionary process to present where we aided, converted the almost casual engine into a fire breathing 510 cu. in. monster capable of WOT operation at or near 8600 rpms. At that point, the only Chevy part left was the block. Rigney pulled out all the stops and used several tricks to get this engine to where it will run WOT without breaking. Preferring to be modest, when asked about the engine or pump mods, the owner, Paul Sr. will typically smile and just respond with something like, \"It only costs twice as much to go first class.\"INSTRUMENTATION The instruments in are all Autometer Pro Series. The team has a lot of faith in the product and it hasnt let us down. All told, there are 15 instrument gauges in the dashboard of and that doesnt include switches or indicators. An observation made by one of the previous co-pilot candidates was that, \"This thing has more stuff on the dash than an airplane and more electronics than a Destroyer. (Rigney amusingly claims hes had seven co-pilot candidates and nearly all of them have quit out of fear.) There are four computers mounted somewhere in the capsule. The only electronics doesnt have is a radar system, but only because there is not enough room.WING CONCEPT The most dramatic design concept is the sixteen foot airplane wing mounted on the boat. At a first glance of the boat, one might wonder if they are seeing a seaplane or a boat. During construction, one of the advertisers provided two aluminum fuel tanks intended for a semi and that brings the total fuel capacity to three hundred gallons. When full, the tanks will increase the total weight of the boat by about one ton and the wing has been designed to lift a portion of that weight while at speed.PERFORMANCE The performance for the boat is not as hot as the team would have preferred. On a good day with the right wind and wave combination the boat can achieve mid-seventies.
