Vintage Butter mold/stamp dating back to approximately 1900. The housing and handle were probably made with a lathe and then the mold pattern was applied using a technique called chip-carving. The pattern on the inside is geometric with a repeating palm frond. The outer housing has a nice patina. There are no chips or cracks on this item. Circa 1910, this brown, horse-hide lap blanket is in great condition. It was used by my Mom, as a little girl, when they would ride in a sleigh to visit their neighbors in rural Minnesota. The blanket has been carefully stored in a cedar chest for most of the last 40-years.It measures 67” L x 58” W with soft horsehair on the topside and a heavy, black, wool-flannel fabric on the underside. This blanket is in excellent condition with no visible damage or wear on either side of the blanket. It has the original manufacturers tag sewed on by the Dubuque Tanning and Robe Co.The Dubuque Tanning and Robe Company was founded in 1907 by Frank M. Rhomberg. During the horse and buggy era the focus was on tanning and the manufacture of coats and fur blankets. In 1917, a move was made to the current building and the name changed to Rhomberg Fur Company. This is an item that I never wanted to, nor thought I would ever have to sell. I bought it from an individual 30 years ago who himself was having hard luck times. This authentic Meerschaum pipe in original case with SOLID GOLD ring is well over 100 years old. I really need to pay overdue bills so must sell. This is an item you and your family can cherish for generations and you will seriously help me out too. Ill leave my story omitted other than I really need the money and I have made some significant accomplishments in my life that took their toll on me. That is life and one must survive. This is a prized posession but Id rather be free of debt for a while then have this stored away safely as it has for the three decades I have owned it. No doubt I am intending it for someone who has extra money to spend and who can afford it. Whomever purchases it, I am sure you will cherish it as I have. The colouring is absolutely perfect with different shades of deep plum red and a glass like surface. I have been repeatedly informed that you dont get any nicer a color with aged Meerschaum than this. There are absolutely no cracks or damage of any kind to the pipe bowl or scene. The artwork is of a horse being attacked by a mountain lion while on the run. I only hope the pics do it justice. At the base of the pipe where it attaches to the stem, a solid 14k gold ring overlaps the joint. Etched on the outside of the ring are the initials J. E. D. November 9th, 1898, although the pipe itself could be much older. On the inside it is inscribed 14K. The gold trim work is intricately etched. Other than the seller telling me it was his uncles, I do not know who J.E.D. was. He may have told me back then but it is no longer in my memory. Obviously the amber stem is broken but this less important part can be replaced for less than a few hundred dollars. It is a minor issue. The internal bone insert is still intact, although maybe a little loose, which I am told is normal for a pipe of this age. The pipe measures 5 3/4\" long. Total original length was 6 3/4\" based on the impression inside the case. Clearly it is the detailed fine work of the Meerschaum itself that holds its beauty and value. The pipe comes in its original custom molded Meerschaum case, which I believe is made out of beaver skin. There is some wear on the leather trim but the skin itsef is in very good condition. The hinges are intact. Inside the case is the Genuine Meerschaum Warranted relief. This Authentic Meerschaum Pipe is truly one of a kind. Based on the age, it was probably made in Turkey or neighboring country where they were known for such craftsmanship in the late 1800s. Such inticate craftsmanship is hardly ever found today. This is a work of art. If you are truly interested, I can send you much better quality photos then what is posted here. So I guess Ill ultimately leave the sale of this prized posession to fate, and someones goodwill. Im not sure what else to add except to reiterate that it is a very beautiful piece that you will appreciate having and my selling it will help get me out of debt. Thank you for looking. This beautiful Jewelry Display Table features 8 drawers which slide out and function perfectly. This table has a nice walnut finish. The contents of the top four drawers can be seen through the top. There are no locks on these drawers. The table top measures 36\" x 36\" and it is 34\" tall.The table would benefit from a glass or acrylic top (which has long been lost).
