2010 Raleigh XXIX (29er) rigid frame single speed XL for $500. This is a rigid frame mountain bike that has been my commuter bike for the past two years. I've added fenders for year round riding and run road tires (700c x 37) during the spring to fall months. The mountain tires that are back on look new. I also switched out the rear cog from an 18t to a 13t for commuting. It's in good shape with a few usual wear signs from cables rubbing and minor chips in the paint. I bought this Schwinn Tempo frame last spring with the intention of turning it into a commuter to get to campus every day. I haven't seen another Tempo on the road, ever, so it's a unique bike. It's been a fun project, but I have recently upgraded. As for this bike, it has: New Alex Rims Da16 - 700's, which averaged about $70 a piece New Continental Ultra Sport tires - $25 a piece Single Speed/Fixed Gear flip flop hub. New Chain Riser Handle Bars Oury handlebar grips Dia compe sidepull brakes Sanded and repainted the frame Replace seat with WTB seat I think it turned out pretty well. It's a solid commuter, but it would also be fun for someone looking to try out a new project. I've never measured it, so I'm not sure about the frame size. I have a 2007 Yeti ASX (size small) DH/FR mountain bike for sale. As it is it's got scratches and scuffs, but no dents or anything that would cause any structural issues. The frame is travel adjustable from 6.3 to 7.4 inches. It is a bike that can be ridden supper fast and aggressively on the rough stuff, but turned around a ridden back up without too much suffering. Component Highlights: 2008 Fox 36 Van R fork 2008 Fox DHX 5.0 shock Hayes Stroker Trail brakes w/203mm rotors- The right lever is slightly bent. Mavic EX729 wheelset, with Michelin Dh24 & DH16 tires Lots of Race Face, and some TruVativ stuff as well. The drivetrain is Shimano LX, I switched out the Sram X9 rear for the LX, and in my opinion, the LX works way better. I replaced cables, and housing at the same time that I switched the brakes. . They called this the "Muscle Bike" of the Schwinn bikes when they came out in 1971 and only made them for two years. I think this one is a newer version from 2006 if I'm reading the date right (Ace0615JE), Model (S2132WM), but I'm not sure. It has low miles, is in great condition, and is just a nice clean bike. It's a single speed bike with no cables or wires to wear out and the brake is the classic foot pedal brake. The black paint is good, no scratches, the tires look new, and the alloy wheels look new, the chrome fenders and handlebars have a few specks, but otherwise very nice. It has the nice big banana seat, very comfortable and adjustable for almost any age or size rider (it is right now in the highest position for use by an adult), front and back reflectors, big balloon Schwinn back tire with the smaller version in the front, a good kickstand, and reflective, good condition pedals.
