Exercises administrative control over all phases of the loan departmentˇ¦s operations, directly or through subordinates.Essential Duties:- Develops and recommends loan portfolio objectives, policies, and procedures.- Ensures that loan services are provided to loan officers, including credit analysis, evaluation of financial statements, credit investigations, and collection of overdue loans.- Keeps the President/CEO and board of directors informed of any material considerations affecting the loan portfolio, loan policy, and individual loan transactions.- Provides guidance to officers engaged in lending activities.- Oversees reporting of all lending activities.- Supervise preparation of lending area reports for monthly board of director packet- Assists in the training of loan officers.- Reviews new loans and delinquent reports to ensure that current policies and procedures are being followed.- Exercises the usual authority of a department head concerning staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary actions, and terminations.- Coordinates the dissemination of loan policies and procedures, and ensures that deviations from policy are corrected.- May be asked to serve on other business organization committees.Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelorˇ¦s degree in business or a closely related field.- Minimum fifteen (15) years experience in banking with emphasis in credit administration, lending and loan review.- Ability to develop and maintain organizational structure.- Knowledge of current management and leadership methods and practices.- Ability to direct and supervise the work of others.- Knowledge of lending laws and regulations as well as best practices in industry.- Strong analytical and credit skills, and a good knowledge of bank services.- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.- Ability to prioritize and coordinate a variety of activities.
