Bend, Oregon biotech firm, designers and manufacturers of innovative tools for Life Sciences, is looking for a Senior Research Scientist. We provide and develop high quality products to meet customer needs in cell culture, cell biology and marker analysis in microarray formats.The qualified candidate will have a PH.D or MS in biochemistry, cell, molecular or micro-biology. Experience with cell culture, polymers, microarrays, hybridization and other commonly associated molecular biology techniques are required. Manufacturing experience is a plus. We provide competitive salary with and an excellent benefit package.Responsibilities: This position is responsible for conducting hands-on research relating to cell culture products. Will help design, develop, test and evaluate advanced products and tools for emerging applications in microbiology, molecular biology, and biomedical engineering. This position will also be responsible for biological protocol development and setup of equipment required for the laboratory. Experience in tools employing instrumentation such as luminescence and fluorescence plate readers is needed. Duties also include analytical evaluation of data analyses, laboratory maintenance, experimental documentation and the presentation of results.Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and collaborate with colleagues, departments, Effectively manage and supervise a laboratory staff. The successful candidate will conduct experiments and data analysis supporting development of manufacturing processes and work closely with QA and Production staff in creating processes and standards. Management of work load and company priorities.Other Skills and qualifications: Flexibility to multi-task and adapt in multiple areas of technology. Experience in tools employing instrumentation such as luminescence and fluorescence plate readers. Be a highly motivated risk-taker with positive, can do attitude. Must have excellent hands-on skills to conduct robust and efficient experiments with cells. Good problem solving skills and can work independently and as a part of the team. Must have excellent computer skills for collecting data as well as a basic understanding of statistical concepts pertaining to data analysis and understanding are essential. Ability to design drawings and specifications for products. Positive and professional approach.
