I have a 9 year old grey gelding for sale, $1000/OBO. Broke to ride, I have only owned for a month or so but was a pasture ornament to an old man for over a year. Got him up and he rode off, no buck, kick or bite. He rides awesome, smooth trot and lope! The problem is he does not like working at the racetrack, on a farm or trails, he does great. a swarm of honeybees honey bee that have made their home in my barn and more seem to be making it their and home and the barn owner thinks they need to find another place to call home.There was a knot in wood that had fallen out and they started a nice honey comb inside the exterior boards of the barn. There are graineries behind the boards and boards are tongue and groove. No cutting on wood will be allowed and if boards are taken off, they will need to be put back on. I am considering leasing my good riding horse out free of charge to someone who would take immaculate care of him and ride him often. I am pregnant and have decided not to ride during my pregnancy and will be riding again April-May of next year. He is also for sale but the market sucks right now and I don’t want to drop my price on him because I’d rather just keep him so I don’t have to go out and buy a new horse next year. But if you fall completely in love with Cody and want to buy him that might be a possibility. Here are the details on “Cody”: He is a dapple gray 9 year old half-Quarter Horse half-Thoroughbred gelding. He is a big boy and stands close to 16 hands. He is a true been there, done that type of horse (roping, trails, barrels, poles, polo, team penning, parades). He is very gentle and laid-back but has get up and go when asked. Sides passes, pivots, backs, stops, etc. He is current on Coggins, shots, teeth, and hoof care (wears shoes on the front). He gets along with any horse. He has no bad habits. I would say he is kid safe if the kid is at least an intermediate rider, just because he is so big and can be fast (but only when asked). I will tell you right now that I will be VERY picky on where Cody goes. He must go to a home with safe fencing (no barbed wire) and must have shelter from the elements. I also prefer he go to someone with lots of horse experience and also someone who is a good rider (I don’t want Cody’s training messed up). A trail rider would be perfect for Cody because that is mainly what I do with him. You must be willing to sign a very specific leasing agreement that basically makes you 100% completely responsible for any costs incurred with his care (feed, de-worming, shots, hoof care) and also any emergencies that might occur. I would also require a reference from your current vet. You must not be far from the Tulsa area so that I can check on Cody periodically. I have a gorgeous horse, green broke, has a little hop to him and needs a better handle, he also lunges forward, Ive ridden him once and its too rough on my back with his fit he throws when you get on, hes not mean, and its not a dangerous horse, I just cant ride horses like that anymore, I can pay 250-300 per month or work it off in chores, Im not scared of him at all, hes just real green and spooky, I had an accident on a previous horse I owned that caused back problems and a knee injury so I have to ride horses that are not bomb proof just reliable. Hes around 15.3 maybe 16 hands, 5yr old paint, I plan on later using him for barrels and will train him myself for that but right now I just need him broke. This gelding is a very nice stocky horse. He stands about 15.2 hands tall and probably weighs 1200 lbs. So if you like a real classy looking buckskin that is also gentle and easy to get along with then you need to check this one out! He is up to date on all shots and worming and also has on a new set of shoes. He really rides nice and has a very good handle on him. He is gentle and seems to not have anything that bothers him.
