10 yr Tahoe local looking to share larger home. I have two large dogs and need a nice place for all three of us. hello... this is a very long and sad story that i hope will have a happy ending and soon. last week i swapped the starter on my 1993 Chevy half ton pick up and it went good enough. but to make getting the thing in and out i unbolted the thing directly under it to push out of the way. this thing is my slave cylinder. after the starter change the truck started right up but when i went to move it, the clutch would not engage... it wouldnt move so... i unbolted the slave cylinder and tried to fix but then the clutch would go to the floor with no resistance. i hadnt put the plunger in the proper position on the clutch fork i discovered so i took it apart for a third time to do this and in the process the slave came apart and hydraulic fluid leaked all over. so now i had air in the thing and while trying to bleed it ended up breaking the slave cylinder. all the pressure and fluid dumped out of the bleed valve screw where it had sheered off. turns out th ething is plastic. who knew?as that was a friday afternoon and my local Napa was closed, i couldnt get a new one until tuesday... today. so i installed the new slave cylinder and began to bleed the line. my roommate and i poured almost 5 bottles of fluid through the line with me on the ground and him at the pedal with no real results. i have heard numbers... crack that bleed valve screw 10, 15, 20, 25 times... i swear i did it like 50 or 60 times. 5, 12 ounce bottles worth and had to give up because we ran out of fluid and day light.im ripping my hair out here because i need this vehicle and i am getting low on money! if i had a job i would have been fired by now for spending so much time on this. or i would have just paid some one to fix it but like i said it was a simple starter swap/ i need help. practical advice or more... what ever you got. if i keep having one person push the clutch and hold it while i crack the screw, and then release the clutch after i have closed it... keeping the reservoir full all the while... how long, how many times and how much break fluid am i looking at before its done? what is supposed to happen? how do i know when it is done or even working? is it supposed to get better or is there some other thing i have to do... im starting to lose it here. how do garages bleed clutch lines? it cant be this way...thank you in advancei have gotten lots of info as to how to do this bleed, but... what could i be doing wrong? Hello, My sons birthday is coming in mid July He was my presant on my birthday too! I dont celebrate mine so he can have a nice party. So, we just recently lost our house and are trying to get our life back together after the huge drop in construction started with the recession. My husband just started at a warehouse. I am trying every where to get a job. My son is turning 5. We have always been fortunate enough to make his birthday really fun. Now on these hard times I am even wondering where to have it for cheap since we dont have our own place at the moment. So, if any one has any ideas let me know. Also my son really wants a dirtbike for 2 years now. My husband is a granite installer so maybe we can work out a barter? He installs granite counter tops in the kitchen and bathrooms. He can also do BBQ areas, hearths, tub surrounds, shower walls and just about anything you can think of for granite. A Honda 50cc would be great but anything comparable would be awsome too. A newer 90cc quad would work too. He got a quad when he was 2 but it isnt running currently. Also my son has not had his portrait done since he was 3 so I would really LOVE to get his pictures done if anyone is a photographer? He is also into transformers and Scooby Doo. If anyone is cake person let me know. I need a really nice big Scooby Doo cake. Im not asking for these things for free just bartering services or cheaper than normal.THANKS SOOO MUCH and GOD BLESS!
