Position will focus on Division 8 of the project manual, specifically metal doors and frames, flush wood doors, and door hardware for use in commercial construction applications. Work includes development of sales strategies, developing new clients, client consultation on design and hardware application, product selection, preparation of submittals and elevations, coordination of project details and deadlines, and field inspection. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter that is driven to succeed and wants to be the best in their field. Candidates must have a proven, stable employment record in the commercial construction industry, preferably architecture. Note: This is a commission only position. PROTOTYPING AND MANUFACTURINGDesign and manufacturing company in Henderson, Nevada seeking innovative and experienced mechanical engineer, senior mechanical engineer or senior designer to bring concepts to life from start to finish. This person will work in association with other designers, detailers, sales people and project managers to take a project from the initial concept through design and development, prototyping and manufacturing.The ideal candidate should have the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities noted, to be able to satisfactorily perform the job functions responsibly:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform mechanical design/modeling, development and support product transitions thru manufacturing Prepare bills of materials for finished mechanical assemblies Prepare finished mechanical assembly and fabrication drawings from sketches or redlines provided by design Prepare finished as ¬built/¬installed versions of drawings from redlines provided by design/shop or field personnel Acquire or generate, as necessary, all technical product data sheets required to document above drawings Assist, as time allows or as project schedules require, in the fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation of equipment or systems produced by the Mechanical Engineering Department Perform optimization and value engineering reviews of both existing and new equipment for improvements in manufacturing cost and efficiency Perform dynamic and static load calculations Perform other duties/tasks as assigned by managementQUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Mechanical Engineering / Design Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Hands-on experience in Mechanical design or manufacturing environment CAD experience (Autodesk Inventor preferred) Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel - Project experience a plus) Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and creating Acrobat files (.PDF) Ability to work unsupervised; self motivator, willing to put in the time and effort to achieve assigned goals Ability to multitask, work within deadlines and prioritize work as required Ability to communicate effectively with engineering, technical staff, vendors and/or clients Ability to read and comprehend architectural blueprints a plus, but not required Ability to perform structural analysis including static, dynamics and thermal loads Geometric dimensioning and tolerating (GD &T)WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work time is spent between manufacturing and office environment. Work time may be spent on a production floor where temperatures may be warm in summer months and cool in winter months; dust is present and noise level can be moderate to high.
