Information-Telecom Primary Purpose Provide engineering related design, analysis, and studies for domestic or international projects. This person will be expected to provide engineering management related to design, analysis, and drawing production utilizing domestic or international resources Principal Duties and Responsibilities Plans, schedules, conducts, or coordinates detailed phases of engineering work for an assigned portion of a major project or the total project of moderate scope. Supervises the engineering work of assigned Drafters, Designers, and subordinate Engineers. This includes work assignments, scheduling and review. Develops alternate methods, techniques or design concepts as required to resolve unique design problems. Coordinates with personnel in other departments, project managers and client personnel to review designs and resolve areas of concern. Performs special studies or analyses involving review, research calculation, selection, etc., to develop required reports. Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements. Minimum Qualifications Minimum of 5 year’s of experience performing engineering related duties. Must have a strong background in wireless projects. Must have a strong technical background in wireless. Must be self motivated. Must be well organized to coordinate multiple jobs at one time. Strongly recommend that they are a PE (Not a must have). Will be required to coordinate/schedule PO’s with subs (Surveyor, Geotech, Enviro., etc.) Must be able to relay technical site information to Lead Engineer in KC. Nice to have - Structural experience and be able to do site visits and evaluate existing conditions of the site and foresee potential site conflicts. Must be in place to work with local authorities for project approvals (zoning, special use permits, etc.). Nice to Have - Able to communicate technical issues well too Municipality’s or other Governing authorities. May be required to make site visits during construction and help Construction Manager work through field issues that develop during construction. Will be responsible for the overall cost control of the engineering work. Job DescriptionThe role of the Construction Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Nexant, Inc. is a leading provider of energy and carbon management consulting services to electric utilities, energy producers, and energy end-users worldwide. We are currently seeking a Project Manager in energy efficiency, energy management, and green buildings applications for our Chandler, Arizona office.The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing staff who are reviewing energy efficiency projects, conducting energy engineering analyses, and writing reports. Additional duties include maintaining client relationships and developing new business. Successful candidates must demonstrate ability to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position. Our clients include public agencies, private and investor-owned utilities administering ratepayer-funded energy efficiency programs, energy end users and energy service companies.Duties and Responsibilities:• Manage three to six full time engineers; • Maintain quality control of all deliverable products, demonstrating technical excellence, objectivity, and clarity while maintaining project schedules;• Meet with clients to co-manage projects, present results, and develop new scopes of work; • Develop new business opportunities;• Meet overall budget and profitability targets.Experience and Education:• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in mechanical, architectural, electrical or civil engineering or sustainable building practices;• Minimum of 6 years experience within the utility, energy efficiency, or building efficiency industry; • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deliverable deadlines and budgets; • An understanding of building systems (particularly HVAC), thermodynamics, and heat transfer; • Excellent analytical, writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills; • P.E. preferred;• Local industry contacts are a plus;• LEED certification and/or building simulation experience are a plus.Nexant, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and encourages workforce diversity.
