Chinese teacher needed (northern New Mexico)![]() |
northern New Mexico | +$3,000 for two weeks | 2009-06-02 10:51PM |
| CHINESE TEACHER NEEDED FOR SUMMER OUTDOOR LANGUAGE PROGRAMI am looking for someone who is fluent or nearly fluent in Chinese to be able to teach beginning Chinese for a two week road biking trek in northern New Mexico this summer. We are looking for men and women who have experience road biking (or mountain biking, but need to be in shape), and there of course will be camping along the way, so knowing about that helps. A knowledge of first aid is a plus, but arrangements can be made so that the teacher/leader has some knowledge. I am hoping the trek will be in mid-July and of course last to the beginning of August. Please be over 18.The program is designed for six to ten people, and I will be willing to hire on a helper if the prospective teacher does not feel entirely comfortable leading the expedition alone. The instruction is an immersion program and will cover 3 and a half hours a day before the trek begins. There is no English allowed except for emergency situations. There will be several food stops along the way till refill the supply. The program will cost between $1500-$1800 per person, and the teacher can expect about 50% of the profit. I am also looking to keep students from the program and get them interested in coming back, and possibly having them have private instruction via webcam, and optimally having them return the next year for more instruction. I would very much like to do multiple treks this summer, and to possibly organize regular miniature outdoor treks on the weekends during the winter and fall months…a summer camp might be something tamer, and I am interested in discussing this. Basically, I am looking for a dedicated teacher who is willing to not only teach inside a classroom, but one who would be willing to teach outside any time of year…that being said, I would still very much like to hire on a regular Chinese teacher for one or more cities in northern NM.Our company is growing out west, and we need your help.
