This person will report to the Lead Process Engineer, and will be involved in facility walk-downs, engineering drawing revisions, pressure relief valve sizing calculations, and directing the work of designers. Candidates must have min 2 years of experience as a Process Engineer working on US Department of Energy or related projects, and must have knowledge/experience with applicable pressure safety system codes, standards and design requirements. These include B31.3 piping codes and ASME pressure vessel codes. Good technical and problem solving skills are required. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are a must. Mark-ups, Redlines, Updating as-built, Transfer drawings from hand sketches to CAD. I can easily convert drawings to PDF, TIF, JPEG, BMP, etc. I also work with Structural, Civil & MEP Engineers. Ive worked on projects in California, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada. I work with a number of CAD programs: AutoCAD, TurboCAD, DataCAD and SketchUp. THAT MEANS YOU IT GUYS Background: Major Projects is initiating a project to perform Measurement Uncertainty Recapture Power Uprates at the three Duke nuclear sites. These small power uprates use highly accurate instrumentation to allow power uprates within the current design and analysis envelope. Initially, the project manager will be responsible for project planning, scope definition, cost estimates, development of RFPs for outsourced engineering services, and preparation of funding requests. As staffing of the project team is completed, the PMs duties will shift to management of the engineering effort to prepare for plant implementations. The individual will be based in the Nuclear Department’s Charlotte General Office, however travel to the three Duke nuclear locations will be required. This position is responsible for managing project scope, time, cost, risk, and quality for assigned projects. This position is accountable for all aspects of assigned projects including maintaining effective relationships with customers and stakeholders, and gaining their trust and respect. This position is accountable for managing the resolution of quality issues, and completes assignments (proposals, project tasks, reports, etc) within negotiated budgets and schedules.
