Hi-Im a Colorado based nurse working at LAMC. I would like to find a room or small guest house to rent for the next several months. The closer to the hospital, the better. I work nights, so I need a place that would be fairly quiet during the days. I rented from a working lady in Santa Fe a couple years ago, and it worked out fine because I usually got home in the AM as she was leaving, and left about the time she got home in the afternoon. I would only be using the room about 1/2 of the month, as I go back to Colorado whenever I have 3 or 4 days off. Im very clean(almost OCD), no pets mostly just scrubs and a couple sets of clothes. I am 22 years old and I dont know anyone who works as hard as I do. No I do not have an associates or bachelors degree in anything. As soon as I graduated from high school. I went straight into the \"real world\". I was working part time in a retail store in the mall. That wasnt enough for me. At eighteen, I went on to work 3 jobs at once. I worked at Hollister Co, Polar Ice, and Coyote Cafes Rooftop Cantina. I like to keep myself busy and always look for the next challenge in life. Times change and finding new and interesting challenges is always welcome in my world. I moved on to work as a Loan Processor at Diamond Mortgage for two years. I worked through a temp agency (Adecco for Verizon Wireless) Then I went on to another job that I had hoped would be challenging, eventful, and \"stressful\" (I strive in conditions where the average person gets frustrated and gives up or becomes \"stressed out\"). Not the job I was told it was going to be, a phone technician. I had the image and that image was confirmed by my interviewer that I would be repairing cell phones, troubleshooting issues with the software in the phone and finding a resolution. That was not the case at all. The reality of the job became \"You have a problem with your phone? Lets replace it with a refurbished piece of garbage!\" I left my dissatisfying job in hopes of finding something with long hours, a stress induced environment, and plenty to do. I found that one. Anyone have to dial 9-1-1? I was a call taker/dispatcher for emergency services. Worked twelve hour shifts from 7pm to 7am. Four days one week and three days the following one. I enjoyed the job and would still be there if my father hadnt come down with pancreatitus(sp?). I left dispatch and started a career with a company that involves coax cable. This way I was able to be with my father, mother, and brother more often, just in case something happened with my fathers condition. I enjoyed the job at first. I ran into too many customers who were dissatisfied with the last technician, \"Youre the 3rd one.\", \"Youre the 5th guy to come here.\" I may have been the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th technician out there but after I was done, I never heard from them again. I never left a house without all products and services working properly within the recommended level limits etc. Two years I spent working hard, working fast, getting the job done right in hopes of a promotion. The lead tech position was open 3 times in the last year and I applied for it all three times. They interviewed me and each time they said \"blah blah blah senority\" I let them feed it to me. That was until June 17th, 2009. When again I did not get the promotion, someone else who has been there half the time Ive been there and is less knowledgeable and has ALWAYS had to call me to show him how to fix certain issues. This obviously caught me off guard and I approached my supervisors for answers. I asked why he got the promotion and I havent and in so many words their reply was \"Youre an asset to us in the field, you do 2 - 4 times as much work as anyone here.\" My simple reply was \"So, thats it? He gets a promotion because of politics and how useless he is in the field?\" I didnt get a reply this time. \"Alright, well then I quit and well see if these guys still make it home on time until you can adjust the quota for lazy technicians who only care about the bi-weekly paycheck, not about the customers, services, self-image, self-worth or politics.\" So I apologize to any customers who had a technician show up late the past week, and apologize to the future customers for the next two weeks. I also apologize to the techs...wait..........no I dont. I had a fun time when I took out with my mother for dinner that night. I believe it was 9:30 - 10PM? I saw three of you head back to the shop. Thats pretty late. Now you know that I was essentially your savior. It was the workload I did everyday that got you all home on time. Now that the tables have turned. Im sorry you have to work until 10PM. Im sorry that no one appreciated me for the amount of work I did on a daily basis. You know I never even got so much as a \"Good Job Today\"I left that evening to my home without a backup plan. I searched and searched for jobs. Everything requiring an associates degree or a bachelors degree. Or be C++ certified with Windows operating systems. I grew up with computers. I build webpages for fun. I can remove viruses/spyware/adware. Backup hard drives. Install and Repair wireless networks. Troubleshoot external device issues. Troubleshoot software/hardware issues. I even have built my own computers. All with no degree. I did not waste my time to go to school to be certified in what I already know. That sounds ridiculous. \"Im going to pay you to teach me what I already know, just to make sure that YOU understand, professor.\"Im not a bad apple. I enjoy my life to the fullest. I love taking my motorcycle out, going on long hikes, camping, being with my friends and my family but when youre worried about how youre going to make your next mortgage payment, car payment, bills, and gasoline for transportation. You start to worry. Theres no such thing as a stressful work environment for me. The only time I have really faced stress is now. I dont want to be forced to short sale my home, and sell my belongings just so I can have a roof over my head. But, its looking grim and I may be forced to. Helping elderly citizens with minor yardwork for 3 hours a day isnt helping very much. If anyone can throw me a bone as to who is hiring for a full-time position. Please e-mail me. I would greatly appreciate it.I already know that Im probably not going to get any responses to this. This became more of a vent than a real \"Hire Me!\" Post. Well unlike a resume, you get to see a human being and not a list of references. Word to the wise if you currently have a job. Hold onto it unless you have a backup plan.
