i have a 1976 dodge van tradesmen 100 van , with a 318 engine, one year ago , it was blowing blue smoke. i am a wanna be mechanic, i did a compression check on the old engine one of the cylinders was 80 poounds, i ordered a rebuilt 318 off of the net, i put it in, with new radiatior, fuel pump, and rebuilt carburetor from autozone, it will start, but it runs rough, i adjusted the timing with a cheap timing light from harbour freight. to 4 degrees , above top dead center. it still runs rough. i used to use this van to do yard work around here, hauling branchs, weeds etc. so i really would like to get this thing running smoothly again. oh i tested the compression on the new motor and all the cylinders had 100 pounds, so i know the motor is good, any mechanics out there with experience with an old dodge 318 1976 van, i will pay you $75.00 cash if you can make this thing run smooth , we both get in and take it for a drive. and you go home with the money. and i start doing my summer yard work. thanks for anywone who can help me, call mike at 896-7897, leave message if im not here.
