This will get you about 2000 miles down the road. The gas mileage is 7 MPG Highway and about 5MPG City.Starting the Bus;The high powered veggie system preheats the filtered veggie oil with electric heaters before you start the engine. This process can take anywhere from 3 to 15 minutes depending on the outside temperature. The lower the temperature the longer you have to run the heaters to reach about 100f oil temperature for starting.I have started the bus in 27f on 100% veggie oil.Anything below 20f you will need to use some percentage of Diesel fuel to keep the veggie oil form coagulating.After the engine is running the electrical heaters can be turned off and the engine coolant heat exchanger will keep the oil temperature at about 160f for normal running operation.The veggie oil is hot filtered down to 5 micron.The oil is being filtered on demand and on high pressure to extend the life of the filters.The cost of the replacement filter is $2.50 at Wal-Mart and you can get 500-700 miles out of just one filter.This veggie system can handle 80% of the oil you will find out there.Meaning, it can handle a mixture of probably up to 50% lard with 50% veggie oil.The veggie oil gets pre filtered by a sock filter before it is pumped into the rear tank.There is a 1 Hp electric pump pushing the oil through the pre-filter up to the rear tank. Since the engine is running on veggie oil your electricity is FREE.There is a 1000 Watt inverter to run the electric power for the living space.It takes about 1 hours of driving to fully recharge the batteries.If you drive the Bus frequently, like being on the road traveling, you will never run out of electric power.The veggie system is powered by two additional 6 Volt batteries and a 3000 Watt Inverter. There is a 40 Amp battery charger to charge these two batteries.Water SystemThere are two 55 gallon water tanks below the floor.One for fresh water and one for gray water.Both of the tanks are hooked up to the shower and the kitchen sink.There are two SurFlow pumps serving the shower and the sink.The water pumps can be tuned on and off with hand held remote control.Also they have a demand switch which turns them off when you close the faucet and the shower head.The water heater is a Bosch E2400 Digital On Demand propane water heater.Recirculating ShowerThe shower has a full size bath tub and shower head.There is no compromise on comfort.The shower can be switched from regular mode to recirculation mode.On regular mode the shower water flows down to the gray water tank.On recirculation mode the shower water is pumped back to the clean water tank.There are three 5 micron water filters on the water system.When you are taking a shower, first you sop and rinse in regular mode.You will use about 1.5 gallons of water there.Than you switch over to recirculation mode and enjoy the hot shower for as long as you wish, without using any more water.
