My daughters POA mare went lame on us and she needs something to ride this summer. We are looking for a horse or pony for her that she wont get hurt on and is reasonably priced. She has been riding since she was 2 but I dont have anything that I feel 100% safe putting her on. We do a lot of riding in the summer, ranging from trail riding to moving cows on summer pasture a few times a week so the ideal horse or pony must be able to keep up. Diesel has been my 1D barrel horse for the past 5 years. I am looking at going into eventing and I just dont think it is his thing. He is a solid horse with strong feet and a great personality. Since Ive had him, I have successfully competed in barrels in Montana and NJ. We finished 4th in out first long distance run 3 years ago and have competed in various other events including gymkhana, team penning, trail, horsemanship. Diesel is quiet and I have had beginner riders on him, but he is most suitable for an intermediate rider as he will be lazy if he knows you will let him get away with it. I can run a winning barrel pattern on him and then walk him around on a loose rein. He is very level headed. I am an not in a rush to sell him, and will only sell to the right person. I will also consider a lease. He is UTD on all shots but as I havent been competing with him, he needs a current coggins. I keep him barefoot and have never had a problem with it. I think he would make a great all around horse for the lower levels I have just outgrown him for what I want to do right now.
