My Memphis-based brother just had his first baby and my wife and I want to come down to Memphis in the next couple of months (we are flexible on dates) to visit without being a burden on him and his new family.About our place: My wife and daughters and I live in a very sunny two bedroom coop (approx 1000 sq ft) on the top floor of a pre-war elevator building in historic Hamilton Heights. Were on Convent Avenue, a gorgeous tree-lined brownstone street, which you actually may have seen in the movie \"The Royal Tennenbaums.\" It was recently voted one of the top 5 best blocks in NYC in TimeOut (link below.) Were right near the A and D express trains--two stops to Columbus Circle/Lincoln Center--as well as the B, D, and 1 trains at 145th.The apartment is a nice mixture of old and new, with a clawfoot tub/shower, inlaid parquet floors, French doors, and ten foot ceilings, but also with a gourmet kitchen (Miele cooktop and dishwasher, marble counters, FrancisFrancis! espresso machine, washer/dryer), and wireless network. Decorated mostly with antiques, but some contemporary pieces,it has a king-size bed in one bedroom, and a queen-size four-poster in the other.
