Welcome to Sellwood's Lexie House!
Enjoy the convenience of a condo -- with the warmth and privacy of a real home.
Available June 16 - onward.
Lexie House is a cozy, comfortable, restored 1905 cottage tucked right into the middle of Portland's most coveted historic neighborhood. Your friendly hosts live nearby, and are available to assist you or just leave you alone to enjoy your stay.
Antique and vintage furnishings, along with original pine floors and lots of wavy-glass windows, add to the cottage charm. But "mod-cons" -- including cable Internet access -- abound. Ten-foot high ceilings, with an open floor plan and lots of light. In the master bedroom, there's a late-1800's brass double bed, with a TEMPUR-PEDIC MATTRESS. The smaller bedroom also boasts an antique brass bed, a single.
The spacious open living area offers a velvet Victorian sofa, loveseat hideabed, good reading lights, nice big desk with high-speed Internet access, and TV with premium cable, VCR and DVD player. There's a modest library of movies and board games. (Monopoly, anyone? Scrabble? Clue? Candyland? Checkers?) Teddy bears, Legos and other toys await young guests. In the bathroom, there's a shower, tub -- and rubber duckies galore! Highchair, crib, playpen, changing table and stroller are available, as are rollaway and inflatable beds for your own visitors.
The fully equipped kitchen has a new gas range and stainless steel fridge, dishwasher, microwave, cookware, dishes, herbs and spices, and (of course!) that Pacific NW essential: an espresso machine! The utility room off the kitchen has a washer and dryer. The kitchen opens into a tranquil deck area, with two tables, chairs, a barbecue -- and the surrounding bamboo garden creating maximum privacy.
Sellwood Park, with its seasonal public pool and wonderfully equipped playground, is three long blocks away. Westmoreland Park -- playground and all -- is three blocks in the other direction. The public library is on the next block. Funky or elegant restaurants, grocery stores, TWO Starbucks, and Sellwood's justly-famed Antique Row are all a stroll away. A four-block walk takes you to the New Seasons market. Explore Oaks Bottom, renowned wildlife preserve -- or Oaks Park, America's oldest continually-running amusement park!
Take the bus to Portland's downtown and eastside shopping districts. Reed College, Lewis & Clark College and Law School, Oregon Health Sciences Universities and Portland State are all a ten-minute drive away.
$1950 per month; $750 per week; $125 per night. Air conditioning and all utilities are included, as well as unlimited local and U.S. long-distance phone service, premium cable TV and high-speed cable Internet access. Maximum six people.
