Light, peaceful and spacious classic craftsman bungalow with permaculturally designed landscape full of fruits, vegetables, and berries. We have a room open for a temporary one month sublet for someone who is clean, considerate, and responsible, and who can live with people who meditate, eat meat, and sometimes have a potluck, in a house with no television in common areas, no pets and no smoking. The house has hardwood floors on the main level and high ceilings, a fireplace, dining room and additional breakfast nook off the kitchen. The kitchen has all you need to create amazing foods. There is a peaceful and private deck and garden area in the back with built-in benches, a patio with a fire pit, and a hot tub. We share a yoga/meditation space and high speed internet with wireless access. There’s some shared art/office space in the partially finished basement and a washer and dryer. The room is available now. It's upstairs and has a high ceiling, a closet, carpet, and a big picture window that opens up on both sides. Some furnishings are available if desired. The rent is $395 for the month and includes all utilities. Housemates are progressive, friendly, and independent, and include students and teachers of Buddhism, music and environmental education. Age range of housemates is diverse. We sometimes share meals and have occasional pot-luck dinners with friends. Some of the things that we enjoy are baking, kombucha brewing, and music. The house has a 2-male:3-female ratio. Our home is in a friendly residential neighborhood in outer inner southeast, very close and convenient to Mt. Tabor, OCOM (College of Oriental Medicine), Fubon, the Hawthorne/Belmont districts and public transportation (Belmont bus #15, Green, Blue, and Red MAX lines). We're a short walk from a couple of cafes and an international foods market and just a mile from the East Portland Community Center, where you can swim and take Nia and yoga classes for a few dollars.
