I would finish my job and get ready for my test call and NO TONE!!!! Until i brought this connection tool from a Chinese instructor. This device insures you that ALL your Cat 5, RJ11, RJ12 and RJ45 wires are crimped properly. You can tone Cat 5 ect. from the basement to the top floor. Its really good for offices with multilines using ethernet cabling. If you have 6 or more ethernet cables running to your central station in the basement utility room and non of them are labeled, how can you tell which cable goes to which room. You better be in shape cause you're gonna do alot of back forth, up and down the stairs! UNLESS you have this tool. This tool comes in 2 parts that connect together for storage but when yo're ready to use it, attach the main base to your line to be toned, go to the receiving end, plug in all wires/cables until the toner lights up. MAKE SURE THAT, HOW EVER MANY LINES YOU USED FROM YOUR CAT 5, THAT THEY ALL LIGHT UP!! if you do, then you might have just save yourself 20 min. to an hour time of trying to find the right cable line.
