The one-person rate is $75/night. The room becomes available Monday, July 8. Bethesda is one of the safest dc-area neighborhoods and the apartment has a security/speaker phone security system. The apartment is a ~10-minute walk to the NIH and Bethesda Metro stops (both on the Red Line). The apartment is also a 5-minute walk to the south side of NIH (and the Natcher Conference Center in Building 45), a farmers market, many of Bethesda's restaurants and fun shops, and the Doubletree Hotel. (And, in case you're curious, the Doubletree is about $189/night + $20/day for parking.) Bethesda offers free wifi when you're out and about the town. It's a large (12' x 14'), carpeted, and furnished room available for rent for short-term stays. Over the last few months we've had the pleasure of hosting guests from around the world who were attending meetings at NIH and/or visiting the DC area and prefer saving money over staying in a hotel. A number of them have even come back for repeat stays. There is no smoking or pets allowed inside the building. The price includes unmetered and fast (10 Mbps) wired or wireless Internet and phone access. One keycard-accessible restricted parking slot or bike is available, if desired. Full access to the kitchen and 1 of 2 refrigerators is also available in the kitchen as well as a mini fridge in the bedroom. We provide fresh bed linens and towels.
