For sale is a Made In Japan mid 80's Fender Precision Bass. If you are looking for a show pony bass in pristine shape, keep looking. If you are looking for a reliable, play it all night in the bar monster that can go and go, this is the bass for you. Stock passive electronics, bridge, machines and paint, the only new things are a black pick guard (looks better than any 'mother of toilet seat'), Schaller strap locks and Fender flats. The flats give this powerhouse of a beast the blues powered sound that made the 'Pro' bass famous! There is light fret wear (for God sakes, I play my basses!!) but no dead spots on the neck. There is some body dings and finish crazes. Someone before I rescued her and put her to work installed a Roland type midi pickup which left some screw holes (now dowled closed) in the body (see pics). There is also nicks around the input jack from a badly placed pick guard which is why she has a new one. The back is is good cond. as I wear no belt to scar it and the neck back is smooth and without issue. Rosewood board completes the solid sound she gives. I condition all me basses for 'drying' issues and she is no different. The bass is in Frederick and I can meet you with a Bass Rockman for you to hear her in person. The price is $325, not $450 like others on the List, and that is with a gig bag for storage and transport. I hated them at first but hauling gear out all the tyme, I found them to be a labor saver and easier to move than a hard case. I am pretty firm on the price but will consider trades for and Leo Fender era G&L basses with me making up the difference. Or, if you like, I also have for sale a mid 80's Fender Power Jazz Special MIJ with a smoking Dimarzio in the bridge and stock P's that is also a player I can do a 2 for 1 swap for the right G&L bass.
