Antique flame mahogany Empire game table. Table dates to the early 1840. Top made from 2 matching pieces of mahogany . Square solid mahogany pedestal on a carved base . This table has its original brass castors. Versatile "flip top" design, table looks great whether displayed with top up or down. Top flips down and swivels to form a great card or game table, with storage underneath. Would also make a great game, supper or breakfast table. Storage under to top for game pieces, cards and whatever. Note the proper 19th c. oxidation of the wood in the storage area under the swivel top and under the bottom of the piece. Table is 30" high (with top down), perfect height for a sofa or bedside table. With top down the table is 17" deep and 35" wide. With table open it is a 35" x 34" surface. This is quite a lovely game table and will add old world style to any setting. This piece is loaded with authentic period style,and lovely patina. Table is heavy extremely solid and sturdy opened or closed, no wobbling .The table tops shows stress old cracks.and some veneer missing on the skirt as well as on the base.Please see pictures for details.The cracks are old and will not affect the use of the table.Notice on the bottom pictures and old reinforced board was install,also notice hand made square original nails. please e mail contact and number to see it .Serious buyers only .
