This item is brand new. The box is still in plastic wrapping. I got scammed into buying it by a sales clerk at an un-named computer/electronics store that has recently gone out of business. Bottom line is, I cant return it. I paid $80 for it, and never needed to use it. I will let it go for $50. Well-used and loved iBook running OS X 10.4.11. Perfect starter for somebody. Not a powerhouse, but plenty useful for web browsing, email, writing, etc. Machine has had some repairs on the wiring to the screen (LCD backlight and Airport card) but is now working fine. Built-in airport wifi, DVD player. In decent but not perfect shape. Battery good for about 2 1/2 hours. Includes charger and excellent carrying case. I am looking for someone who is knowledgeable about Hard drives, Western Digital, or computer hardware in general-I have a WD hard drive that was dropped... and bounced... and it now has two pieces that were \"rattling around\" inside. The cover was removed and two pieces were loose and have been removed. One is a opaque metal rectangle with a small rectangular hole toward one end, roughly the size of a coin, the other is a clear plastic T, maybe 3 inches long. I do not want to attempt to replace these pieces and am concerned about other pieces possibly loose inside. If this is a problem you feel comfortable and qualified to tackle and you are on or near MDI- I really need your help.I dont have any experience with this sort of thing, so I have little expectation of what the going rate for this type of service is. Basically i need money and i need it quick so im willing to do just about anything for this computer as long as its a decent price as decent as the computer is.so i believe i can upgrade the processor in it to 1.8 Ghz and the ram i can get it up to about a gig it comes with 512 mb tho .I also have a 128 Nvidia video card i can put in it for better video and gaming.The hard drive comes with 40 gigs but i can add another 40 gigs to it if desired.basically with all the upgraded parts coming with it im asking between 100 and 150 and with the basics im asking between 70 and 100 dollars without the upgrades.it should take me a couple hours to set it up if the ugrade is desired.Also the monitor keyboard and mouse come with it.unfortunately i havent any speakers but that should be no problemo to get for you to get at walmart etc. my number is 783-0927 and my name is Norman.if im not here leave a message.thank you very much im anticipating your call. Its in an HP case because the power button doesnt work on the original case.The specs are:192 MB of RAM ( I think it can be upgraded up to 384 MB)19 GB hard drive (I can upgrade additional 20 GB for $10 more)Intel Pentium II Processor 333 MHzCD ROM DriveCD BurnerThis computer is perfect for going on the internet, doing word processing, burning CDs, and playing those old games.
