Singer 15-91, home industrial sewing machine, built in 1949 in Scotland. In excellent working condition. Wiring to motor was repaired and machine serviced. Motor is FAST! Vertical bobbin case considered by many to be optimum. This is a strong machine that can sew anything from silk chiffon to several layers of denim or leather. The patchiness on the head is old varnish coating on the paint that can be removed with care. Most of the decals are good. Table is sound but finish has some water marks and bubbles. Comes with attachments, user manual and many bobbins. Sews beautifully.

Photos do not even come close to doing this piece of work justice. We paid almost $1500 for it a decade ago in a Bar Harbor gallery, and it was worth it. The glass is iridescent and plays with light; it's amazing to watch. It is purely decorative; it is NOT intended to be put in front of a wood burning fireplace as a protective screen. We were told that it can be put in front of a gas fireplace, but we only used it in front of a fireplace with candles in it. If you appreciate fine art and have a decorative fireplace, you owe it to yourself to come see it in person. We're moving to a new house where it won't work...time for someone new to enjoy it!
