REQUIREMENTS:1. Successfully completed a program recommended by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, which has been approved by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA). The program should be twenty-four months in length or equivalent.2. Valid License from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification in ultrasound.3. A minimum of two years current experience in providing ultrasound services.4. Be familiar with routine, and a variety of difficult sonographic examinations on General Electric, Siemens, Diasonics, Phillips, Acuson and other ultrasound equipment. Difficult procedures include intraoperative and invasive procedures, carotid and vascular studies where positioning and appropriate transducer usage are critical and leave very little margin for error.5. Be able to use set up all ultrasound equipment6. Possess a current CPR Certification7. Technologists shall have knowledge of basic nursing practices related to sonography including emergency cardiac arrest (CPR) procedures.
