I have a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer, great little truck but she has high mileage and a engine knock, probably a spun bearing. I got the truck from an older couple in CO (1st owners) who did nothing but travel. . .. . .so she has 196K, but has the nice 5.0 V-8, is AWD, all leather (gray) interior, all power, sunroof, 6-disk CD changer in the center console and is just a real clean truck. Black exterior on gray interior with tinted windows, steel chrome (stock) rims with good tires, probably around 75% tread life left. So if you are looking for a nice truck for the wife (or GF), it's a pretty easy fix for a hella clean truck. I've watched them go for $4000-6000 on here recently (same year). What I'm looking for is a decent commuter car as I drive approx 70 miles a day to and from work. Will also consider bikes as I tend to collect them.
