Offered for sale is a custom built Teardrop Trailer built by me in 2000. The original design of the Teardrop Trailer was made from three sheets of plywood in 8 or 10 lengths by 4 wide and used cross supports for the roof and were mostly covered in aluminum. The original design has external fenders but a few were manufactured somewhat like this one with the internal fenders in the late 50s / early 60s. There are no Teardrops out there that can match the storage space that this one has! I built this trailer to withstand the test of time and consider it to be the ultimate in usable design. There were some manufactured Teardrops that resemble this one from the late 50s but are extremely scarce. This one is completely usable from all of the storage space to the very functional kitchenette. It was designed to be comfortable to use for most any size person or couple who like to be cozy. The kitchen is the most usable of any teardrop, you stand at regular height and cook without bending, stooping, or reaching. The trailer has been used on six trips in CA from 2000/02 and tows great. I used it this last summer to spend the weekend at Lake of the Ozarks and did just fine. It is 13.5 overall length by 6.5 wide, you dont need extra mirrors to see around it. The body is the standard 4ft tall. The floor sleep space is comparable with any teardrop except for the length...the floor space is 3-11\" wide x 7-7\" long without the mattress & with mattress it is 6-5\" long. You can make the inside a lot bigger feeling if the mattress is removed. The mattress is a custom built one made out of 6\" firm foam and cost me about $250. Trailer tows easily. I towed the trailer from So-Cal to Kansas City with no problems in 2007 and still got great gas mileage with my Dodge Dakota V-8 but have used many different vehicles to tow it.weight: approx 1,100lbspump water with 12g tankdirect city water connectioncable/antenna connection3 burner stove topIce box 3.5 cubic ftNew Carpetroof rack, roof will hold approx 800lbs12V lights, 9 of them110V lights, 3 of thembattery boxpropane tankfully insulated with Styrofoam sheets on roof and sidesTV/VCR includedCustom locking system on entry door and galley doorTires: BF Goodrich 6.70 x 15 bias ply wide whitewall tiresInterior cabinets and closet more than enough for your needsoutside storage compartment for all your block and tacklenew custom firm 6\" thick foam mattressThe trailer was wired so that there are no ground issues with the outside lights, all are wired together making a stable ground to one location. There is one marker light that needs to be repaired/replaced. Trailer has also been wired so that if you install a battery charger, anytime you plug trailer in it is charging the battery. The propane will last you about 6-8 weekend trips of heavy cooking. The \"ICE BOX\" will use 1 block of ice in a weekend and keeps everything cold. Plenty more...too many things to list.Trailer could be painted or left bare aluminum and/or polished. It does not have trailer brakes and the WWW tires are showing their age. Everything works just fine. I built it to travel across the US but bought another old travel trailer instead. This trailer started life as a 1967 13-1/2 Scottsman. The only things used from the original trailer are the windows, sink, stove, inner fenders, frame, and outside compartment door...the rest is new as of 2000 including all wood. It could use a new seal around the galley door in the rear which is just the foam seals found at the hardware store. It needs new mudflaps as the rubber ones I put on rotted off from the dry So-Cal heat. The drapes are faded and showing their age but come with plenty of the same material to make new ones. The tongue could use a new coat of paint and the underside could use another spray of rubberized undercoating. To bring the trailer up to par may cost you $100-$150. Please contact me with any questions. More pictures upon request.NO TRADES!!
