This lathe is specifically made to turn hollow vessels, vases and bowls as wide as 24".. I've also turned pen's and wine stoppers. It is only capable of turning spindle's up to 14" unless you make an attachment to extend the length of the bed. It has a a 1.5hp Leeson motor with a variable speed from 0 to 2500 rpm just by turning a knob. It also has a switch to reverse. Reverse is the best way to sand your work. Its weight is approximately 500lbs and comes with adjustable legs. This is American made machinery at its best! Cost about $2300 new.
