Fairchild Telescope Camera Lens Video - $2750 (Boise)  (pic) Boise 2009-06-24 1:44AM
Fairchild MARK 5 MOD 0 lens. Manufacured by the Fairchild Camera and Instrument Corp. Defense Products Division for the Navy Department Bureau of Naval Weapons, this high quality optical unit was intended to be mounted to aircraft. With four 6 volt lantern batteries wired together in series, you can turn on the two smaller wide angle lenses and focus them at varying distances, and, see the view the big mirror lens view in the focusable eypiece... AT THE SAME TIME!!! The photograph of the tree demonstrates this. The close up of the tree is seen with the big lens, the wide angle view with the picnic table next to the same tree is there also. The photo of two people near the cross on the rock bluff was taken from 4 miles away with the green filter on. The system has a green and red filter. The photo of the Sun was taken using the red filter. A mountain 50 miles away will apear to be 2 miles away with this scope yet it will resolve objects as close as 3 feet away with clarity and sharpness. The quality of the optics in this unit are very good. The photos were taken with a Panasonic Lumix digital camera into the Fairchilds eyepiece which does not do it justice. The Fairchild looks alot better with the naked eye rather than the Panasonics lens. There is a Dry Nitrogen valve on the weatherproof Fairchild MARK 5 to prevent fogging. There is a manual elevation adjustment, filter selector, and f stop control. The eyepeice unscrews and a still or video camera mount can be machined to fit. Under certain conditions and distances crosshairs appear with either a diamond or square or both. Fairchild made a 4 stereo pair camera/lens unit that photographed the Moon on the NASA Appollo mission. Northrup, a competitor with Fairchild for government contracts, made the Axx-1 lens system. The Axx-1 is similar to this Fairchild MARK 5, it is connected to radar and mounted under the nose of the Navys F14 Tomcat. I got this Fairchild unit a few years ago new in the box. Since then I have taken a few photographs through it, otherwise it has been in storage and is like new. Email for more photos and specs. This is a top ranked Digital Video Camera from the most respected manufacturer of optical electronics in the world. It is in new condition. It is a few years old but still new technology. I paid 500.00 but will sacrifice for 145.00 OBO.I used it on our trip to Yellowstone then transfered the video to a dvd which was easy. Then I put it up in the top of the closet and, well, out of sight out of mind. Mini Dv is the best format (5000.00 cameras use it) because of its great picture quality and ease of use. The units that transfer direct to a hard drive or mini DVD are too fragile, and the memory card models are a nightmare to transfer or edit unless you are a computer geek. This is the perfect size and weight. Also has photo mode for sweet still pictures.I bought 2 extra high capacity Batteries for 100.00 and never even used them because the original battery handled everything all day. With the 2 extras you could go for days without recharging, even with a lot of use. The Image Stabilization works great and the Dual microphones pick up every nuance for super concert or recital sound.This awesome camcorder does not have more than 3 hours on it. In comparison, the Celestrons, Meades, Nikons and Canon scopes and lenses I have looked thru are ok, this Fairchild units views are majical and high definition. The photos were taken with a Panasonic Lumix digital camera into the Fairchilds eyepiece which does not do it justice. The Fairchild looks alot better with the naked eye rather than the Panasonics lens. Dry Nitrogen can be added to the Fairchild MARK 5 to prevent fogging. There is a manual elevation adjustment, filter selector, and f stop control. The eyepeice unscrews and a still or video camera mount can be machined to fit. Imagine your Canon XL or XHD mounted to this lens system. At close distances crosshairs appear, they are part of the eypiece. I cant find any information on this Fairchild Mark 5 unit anywhere on the net or from anyone including a Phd. in the air defense field. I have 3 differnt DVD titles that I need copies of. I have 120 white printable DVD-R that I need duplicated and printed labels on them. The text used on the label is SIMPLE and printed on my MASTER copy that I will give you. So anybody up for this job this weekend? I can give you the DVDs and you can have at it. I do not need them until July 1st. WHat is the lowest price you can give me for this job? I expect perfection and no scratches or blury printing.
