Sax-style MIDI wind controller. Casio has made an electronic saxophone that is so easy to play you wont believe it. The DH-100 has the unique claim to be the only SELF-CONTAINED wind controller. Unlike other wind controllers, the DH-100 can be powered via batteries, has a built-in sound generator, amplifier, and speaker, so you can play it in a parade or on the beach! It features built-in sounds as well as a MIDI OUT jack which allows you to expressively control MIDI synths. It also has a built-in synth featuring SIX sounds: saxophone, trumpet, synth-reed, oboe, clarinet, and flute. There is a built-in speaker with volume control.There are switches to select the sound, transpose (2 octaves), and a Breath switch, which allows you to play the horn without needing to blow into it if desired. There are also connections for headphones, MIDI OUT, and an AC adaptor (AC adaptor not included). The DH-100 also runs on five \"AA\" batteries making wireless a possibility using a standard wireless guitar system. There is a power-on LED indicator. It was recently professionally serviced, reconditioned, and cleaned by wind controller expert Matt Traum at Patchman Music on the Mainland, with an upgrade to prevent squealing (a common problem with these horns if not upgraded)- a $90 value included!The DH-100 is a rather expressive MIDI controller. It transmits variable velocity in response to how hard you attack a note. It transmits program changes 0 through 5 when you select the various tones with the tone button. It also transmits Portamento Switch (CC#65) when you press the Portamento key. This is a great way to get into the wonderful world of wind controllers.These units are rare, and especially in this re-conditioned state. They currently sell on the Mainland for $225.00, but this one can be bought for $75.00 because the “blow-through” feature is not working, but every other feature works perfectly, and plays to the touch of the keys. The unit is in good shape and has been cleaned, fully checked out by professional wind controller repair tech. I have had this bass for about twelve years and it plays great. It has new Eurosonic strings and a nylon gig bag. Beautiful deep brown finish with rosewood fingerboard. The bass has some minor wear to the finish only, no structural dings. These old Kay basses are great for the islands because the laminated wood is much less sensitive to temperature and humidity changes. The bass is also a tank when it comes to transporting. I think I have a student-quality, French-style bow that I can include as well. If I can find it, the bow most likely needs to be re-haired.
