This is one of the original CRT Blueberry iMacs with a 333mhz G3 processor, 192mb of RAM, a 20GB Maxtor hard drive, and Mac OS 9.2.2 installed. This is a great little, easy to use computer--the same computer and OS that is still used widely in the public elementary school rooms.My young daughter knows this computer well from her classroom experience and knows exactly what to do to get going in one of the educational games that are installed, including programs which teach how to use the mouse and keyboard. Shes outgrown much of her software, so Im including a large assortment of software disks which include Disney, Reader Rabbit, Jumpstart, etc. They range from preschool through elementary school stages. The photo shows some of what Ill include. Ill go through the rest of our collection to add to whats in the photo. A trip to your local thrift store will likely have many more disks to choose from at cheap prices.In addition to the childrens software, its got Photoshop 6, Pagemaker, and a couple other major programs on it.Included is the keyboard and mouse. Because I took the photo outside on our patio, you cant see the screen, but rest assured, the computer is in very good technical condition. Its been well maintained. Im a bit of a Mac technician myself, so I know well the condition of this computer, and Ive optimized it for peak condition. It runs smooth, cool, and fast for its class. It has a few scrapes on the case, but they are simply cosmetic blemishes.This would be the perfect setup for your young child to get him or her started, and away from the TV and Gameboy. Theyll be learning and challenged as well as having fun and can get started on their homework. They can go online with it to do their online KidBiz 3000 homework which is the standard in the schools now, and thereby not competing with you for computer use on your computer. It has a 10/100 ethernet port and a 56k modem for internet connection.Ive also put the OS 9 version of iTunes (mp3 player) on it, so while your child isnt using it for games and learning, with an extra set of good desktop speakers, you could use it as a home mp3 player as well. Theres plenty of space left on the hard drive for your mp3 collection, and 192mb of RAM is more than enough RAM for OS 9. If you wanted to upgrade it to Mac OS 10.2 or 10.3, you could do that also. 192mb of RAM is sufficient for either of those, although, of course, more RAM for X would be better. If you did upgrade to OS 10 (X), you can also always switch back and forth between 10 and 9 on this computer using the same hard drive, but most of the time you wouldnt need to because most of the childrens software and other OS 9 software will work in OS Xs Classic state seemlessly, so if youre new to Mac too, parent and child could both get started on the Mac experience with this machine.Ive also got an HP All-in-one printer which will work with this computer which I could sell for another $25.If you really want to upgrade to the Mac experience, check out my other listing I made today for my tiny Mac Mini. Up for sale is my gently used Mac Mini G4. This is the \"secret special\" 1.5Ghz version--it was listed and sold as a regular 1.42Ghz Mac Mini, but actually is faster, has a better video processor with twice as much VRAM, and a faster hard drive than the 1.42 version. It also has Bluetooth and Airport Extreme. Apple has never even officially recognized this better version, so in that way, its a Mac collectors item. This is the last of the G4 Minis and buyers were pleasantly surprised to find significant upgrades over the 1.42 version they thought they were buying. It was like a special secret Christmas present. The buyers didnt know it was better until they turned it on and looked at the Apple System Profiler. The box still said 1.42Ghz, but the profiler said 1.5Ghz and 64mb VRAM! Some owners probably still dont know theyve got a better machine.It has Mac OS 10.3.9 Panther installed on its 80GB hard drive, along with other apps like Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator, Toast, Microsoft Office, and Apple iLife. Included are the original Mac Mini OS DVD installation disks which install Mac OS 10.4, so that you can upgrade from the 10.3 thats installed to 10.4 yourself and thereby easily go through the user setup and registration yourself. After installing 10.4, it will easily and automatically upgrade for free online to 10.4.11--the latest version of 10.4 Tiger--through Apples website.Im also including an Apple wireless Bluetooth keyboard and an older iMac wired USB keyboard (for backup). I dont have the wireless Bluetooth mouse, but Ive got a wireless Logitech mouse or a Mac USB mouse--whichever you want. You can also have a Belkin wireless ethernet router which I picked up used but Ive never used. It should probably work with the Minis Airport. The Mini also has the standard 10/100 ethernet port and a built-in 56k modem for wired internet connection.
