Chris De Rubeis Fine Art Original Framed Piece - "Aftershock" - $4500 (Hilo)
Hilo
This is a rare and truly amazing original piece of art by Chris De Rubeis title \"Aftershock\" originally. I bought this piece from an art gallery owned by David Smith, who is Chris manger. He is the same art promoter that took Michael Godards art to its current status (i.e. one of the more successful artists of our time). He has similar hopes and expectations for De Rubeis and for good reasons. A little background on the artist can be found on his website, http://www.derubeisfineart.com/biography.html. However, given the title of \"the Father of the Conceptual Movement\" says a lot in and of itself. Additionally, he has won two sought after awards from ARTV, including the \"New Movement\" award. This piece is an original, and in my opinion, one of the more incredible pieces of art I have ever seen. The medium Derubeis uses for his pieces is Aluminum sheet metal. He uses acid dies and painting that give this piece incredible tonal ranges and amazing life under different lighting conditions. It gives life to the piece that traditional mediums cannot. Additionally, the piece has a life span and durability almost no other medium can achieve. The lighting and pictures below really do not do this piece justice. I can say that seeing this piece with your own eyes far surpasses any picture. I can also say that having seen over a dozen Derubeis pieces side by side, this one certainly exudes a unique character. I am not a fine art specialist, and this has been one of the only pieces of fine art I have ever bought. It was simply that amazing. I never intended on selling this piece, but desperate times call for desperate measures. The pricing on the piece is conservative. The piece is a 48\" X 24\" and similar pieces from De Rubeis sell for up to $6,000 unframed. The frame for this piece was $700 alone and is incredible. I am making considerations for our current market however in offering this at the listed price. I am negotiable, but one must see the value in this piece of art to truly appreciate it. I am willing to ship off-island if desired. Please dont hesitate to contact me for further information or to discuss further. Mahalo!*A note on the pictures below. These are of the actual piece. It is in perfect condition, and the pictures really do not do it justice. The last piece shows a custom signature Chris put on the back when he did a show at the gallery it was bought from. This adds further uniqueness and authenticity to this piece. Location: Hiloits NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
