The headboard is dark wood, between a walnut and a dark cherry color, and consists of 6 pieces: 2 armiores (27" wide X 77.5" tall X 16" deep) 1 base cabinet (63.5" wide X 16" deep) 2 large mirrors 1 light bridge, which fits over the mirrors and fastens onto the inner top edge of each armoire to make a solid unit NOT included are the queen matress, linens, box springs, and bed frame. We have used the armoires and the base cabinet as separate pieces of furniture. Each armoire has 3 shelves in the upper portion, a pull-out night stand table in the middle, and 3 drawers in the bottom portion. The base cabinet has 2 spacious storage areas with electrical and telephone plug-ins.
