This is a great Discovery, was the 1995 Four Wheeler of the year and before me was owned by a doctor who must have driven it very little as it only has 99,000 miles which is 7000 miles per year and the interior is amazing, literally has not one stain or rip. There is absolutely no rust on the frame and it’s solid as if the car was brand new. Body: The body is in great condition. It retains 100% of it’s original fiberglass and is a no-hit body. All of the original factory bonding strips are in place. The weatherstripping is still all original and in very good condition. There are a few small places where the weatherstripping is just starting to show signs of minor cracking as to expected from original 30yo rubber, but overall it’s in surprisingly very good condition. All of the stainless trim parts such as around the windshield and rear window are in excellent condition. All gaps on the car around the doors, hood, and headlight buckets are excellent. All the original glass is still on the car and in excellent condition. Interior: The interior is in very nice condition and just what you would expect on such a low mileage car. The seats, dash, door panels, carpet, etc are all in great shape. All gauges work, including the clock, although the clock operation is intermittent at times. The original factory jack is still in the storage compartment. There are no cracks in the top of the dash. The A/C was just gone thru completely and blows very cold. From age the original carpet was faded so new carpet was installed last year. Known Issues on the Car: I’m trying to describe the car as completely and accurately as possible so you can have a fair and accurate representation of the car’s condition. Based on that, these are the issues I’m aware of on the car that need some attention. The climate control system does need a new vacuum control port switch but this is only an $18.00 part that I just haven’t had time to get and install yet. One corner of one of the glass T-Tops has a crack in it that was repaired by a previous owner. It’s visible from the outside of the car if the T-Top is installed and you are looking at it but not from the inside and it does not leak. The radio plays good but the power antenna does need repair. The motor operates but the plastic track that raises and lowers the mast needs to be replaced. This should only be about a $25-$30 repair to do it yourself. The most important thing this car needs is a new loving home! How many very low mileage, fully documented ‘78’s are there left to find?
