| Hi, Im looking for a new roommate for an awesome 2 bedroom apartment in the heart of Chevy Chase/Friendship Heights starting in Mid August or September. I’ve lived here 2 years and my roommate is moving for a job and Id like to stay in this great apartment. The apartment is in the heart of Chevy Chase, minute walk from the Friendship Heights Metro Station (red line) in one of the hi-rise buildings (The Willoughby). The building has all the amenities you could want: pool, rooftop hang out, gym, convenience store, laundry just down the hall, cleaners and nearby is a bunch of shops (Chipotle, Panera, Starbucks, Mei Wah) not to mention all the stores/restaurants down the main strip in Chevy Chase like Clydes, Borders, Movie Theater, Mazza Gallery Mall, shopping and more. If you play basketball, there is a 5-10 walk to a nice basketball court too. It takes me 30 minutes door to door to get to work taking the red line downtown (includes the walks). Very nice. I like it because you’re close to the heart of DC and minutes from Bethesda so you can get any where pretty fast whether via metro or car. The apartment is very big and is on the 20th floor for some nice views. The kitchen was recently redone and is nice size and has a lot of drawers. The dining room is really big and the living room is huge. The apartment also has a huge, and very relaxing balcony. Super chill since we’re pretty high up on the 20th floor. The apartment is fully furnished with my stuff (dining room table, kitchen supplies, tv, couches and more) but if you have stuff we can figure it out (let me know what you got). Your room is very good size 15 X 13 feet with a big closet. We also have a jacket closet and a storage closet to store stuff. You would also get your OWN bathroom literally across the hall. If you have a car (current roommate doesnt have one), youd have to rent a spot and theres always people offering up spots on the boards in the building. Probably $50-75/month extra. There is street parking as well only a minutes walk away need be if you dont want to pay for a space or need to wait a month. I did it for a bit. We would split utilities of which the only one is cable. That is about $75/month and includes Internet, Phone and Cable. We get HBO and Starz. Everything else like air conditioning, heat, gas, water is included which is really nice. About Me: Im a 32 year old guy who is from the area but have lived all over the states. Im a Director of Marketing for a company in DC downtown that is a lot of fun. I work typical hours and like to stay busy, but do like to chill at the apartment a decent amount watching some “quality” tv or sports. Im a huge sports fan, college football my favorite (I went to Michigan), love the outdoors (camping, beach, skiing), playing poker, reading a good book, just about anything. Im a pretty easy going guy and its important to me to get along with my roommate. We dont have to be best friends, but grabbing a beer and hanging out always makes a living situation better. I keep the main areas pretty clean, but time to time things get hectic and might not clean it up immediately. At this stage I’m not that big of a partier, but will definitely have some friends come over on some weekends or during the week maybe to watch a big game or play some cards. Basically work hard, play hard I guess (but not too hard)...I think I’m a good roommate and get along with most any one. Ive done craigslist a lot of times over the years (ive live in Chicago, SF, Boston) and almost every time they have been great experiences. About you: -Male or Female -23-37 years old -Have a steady job and can pay the bills on time -Have your own life but like to hang with roommate from time to time -Enjoys doing things and a variety of interests...is not a couch potato -Not anal about cleanliness, but do like to keep a place clean -Enjoy a beer every now and then. I have a 42\" LCD tv in the living room, and have Comcast digital cable with a DVR. You would pay $770 plus half of electric and half of cable, which is a steal for this location. The maintaintance staff is quick and good with fixing anything that needs fixing. Im a 26 year old female in the law enforcement field, and am just looking for a nice, clean, normal roommate (male or female). I tend to be on the neat and clean side, and am not looking for a neat freak, but am looking for a roommate who will clean up after themself in the bathroom and kitchen, and pull their weight in keeping the common areas tidy, and who will share responsibility in keeping the apartment stocked with things we both use like toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, etc.) I do have two very friendly and sweet cats who love to play and cuddle, so if you have allergies this probably wouldnt be the place for you, but if youre an animal lover than you wont find two animals sweeter than these two. The apartment is also a 5-minute walk to the south side of NIH (and the Natcher Conference Center in Building 45), a farmers market, many of Bethesdas restaurants and fun shops, and the Doubletree Hotel. (And, in case youre curious, the Doubletree is about $189/night + $20/day for parking.) Bethesda offers free wifi when youre out and about the town. Its a large (12 x 14), carpeted, and furnished room available for rent for short-term stays. Over the last few months weve had the pleasure of hosting guests from around the world who were attending meetings at NIH and/or visiting the DC area and prefer saving money over staying in a hotel. A number of them have even come back for repeat stays. There is no smoking or pets allowed inside the building. We will consider every nationality.)Here is a large house with free parking, ping pong, full size pool table, large backyard, dining room, full kitchen, living room, guest room, and game room.We have all the essentials: wireless (20mbps), HD Tivo, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and tons of extra space. It is a great location and in a beautiful neighborhood with bike trails and quaint walking paths. We walk to the Metro (avg. 16 minutes) to commute -- good for exercise and to wake up. Besides all this, we are in walking distance for local bars, theaters, stores and restaurants. And, there are interesting people around here to listen about the experiences of it all. Our newest house mate is a 26 yr. old grad student in Microbiology from China. We also have a 26 yr. old female PhD candidate in from Japan here often; and a 26 yr old (female) former AmeriCorps volunteer who is teaching Pre-K and waitressing before grad school. The owner is older and has just finished a law degree. He is often out studying with his girlfriend (the Japanese PhD candidate) or working to improve the recent addition to the house. Or, he is out sailing on the catamaran.What are we looking for in a fourth house mate? A professional/student female in her 20s who does not smoke (at least not in the house), actually recycles, and who can pay rent on time. She has to clean up after herself, and have a personality and can enjoy a good laugh along with a bottle of wine. We want someone who doesnt mind having dinner as a household once in awhile, but also enjoys their independence. Simply put, we want someone who is normal and if you like going out on the town and cooking, then even better.If you are interested, please respond with a brief description of yourself and what you are looking for in a roommate.
