For sale is a 2004 Harley Davidson Sportster. This bike started as a stock XL 883 in 2004. It has since undergone siginificant transformation to make it a 1200 custom. Bike has 37,000 original miles on it. However, the top end was rebuilt as part of an 883-1200 conversion in 2007 and only has 15,000 miles. I bought this bike 100% bone stock in March of 08 with the intent to ride every weekend and it just didnt happen. It took almost 6 six months to get all of the parts because of everything being backordered. Every upgrade was bought for a reason and this bike was NOT just \"thrown together\" like a lot out there. When I bought it, the original owner said it had less than 10 hours and just looking at it you could tell. Since then I havent put 15 hours on it and those that know the bike locally could tell you it wasnt ridden much at all. After every use, I washed and clean the bike. After every other use, the oil was changed which I have done probably 3-4 times. A battery tender has always been on it and it has always been garage kept. The last time the bike was ridden I broke my wrist and since I havent ridden it. Just a few months ago, I added a new set of rear tires and the Fast Flexx handlebars hoping to get back into riding and it didnt happen. I really hate to sell the bike but it just sits in the garage collecting dust and Id like for somebody to ride and enjoy it. Although there are nicer quads out there, this is one of the nicest you will find. The plastics are in great shape with no breaks, cracks, or stress marks. Normal scratches, but very little and no deep scratches or marks. I have a clean, clear DMV issued title lien free that is ready to transfer to a new owner. The bike has the full screaming eagle set-up (slip ons, ecu re-flashed, and what amounts to a K&N) The grips are aftermarket. A small tasteful sissy-bar is as well. There are chromed belt guards and various clamps. Windshield which is vrod specific \"sport\" windshield. Mirror are non-stock and a significant improvement. And a chromed radiator hose cover... Forgive me if i left anything off. For all that HD doesnt do they have built a champ of an engine here. Never hiccups in the least. I would like to say thats because ive taken good care of it but honestly i think you could treat it like crap and it would still be bullet proof. HD knew they were going out on a limb with awater cooled engine and made sure reliability wasnt something they would have to worry about. I would rate the bike 8/10. The chrome can be a bitch to get cleaned up but most anything ive ever thought to bea rock nick turned out to be a dead bug. The previous owner had some leather saddlebags that he threw on the rear end and seems to have rubbed the paint back there. Not particularly noticeable butannoyingly so when you are cleaning the bike. The wheels arent chrome they are aluminum, or something, anyhow also a pain to clean so they dont look showroom, but maybe could with a buff.
