I am selling (reluctantly) a rare, authorized reproduction of a page from John F. Kennedys handwritten notes as he sketched out his 1961 inaugural address. The framed page that I have consists of the notes that led to one of the most famous presidential statements ever made: \"ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.\" A partial black and white picture (to guard against pirating and reproductions) is attached. Since I have been unsuccessful in finding a buyer despite several weeks of posting this ad, I have reduced the price by 25% to $750. The notes were made on yellow lined, letter size paper. The foundation that supports the JFK Library made the reproductions and gave them as gifts to attendees at a private party in connection with the Librarys grand opening. I received my copy from someone who attended that event. My asking price is obviously substantial, especially for a piece of paper that is a reproduction rather than an original. But these reproductions seem quite rare. Ive searched and cannot find another for sale anywhere. So if you can afford something like this, I believe you will find having it on your wall more than worth it. Among other things, my children and many of their friends asked about it as they were growing up (as have many friends and house guests). I will send better pictures in response to serious inquiries. I will also take all reasonable steps we can think of to confirm my identity, how I came to own this remarkable piece of paper, and its authenticity. In case you are curious, I am selling this because I feel I have to, not because I want to. Though I have posted ads in D.C. (where I live), NYC, and SF, there is only one copy for sale. The multiple postings simply reflect my effort to maximize the chance of finding a person who can afford it and will treasure it the way I have. Many thanks.
