I bought this 50hp 1986 Merc electric start, power trim, 2 stroke. The previous owner eperienced a loss of power (it still ran though), and he began taking it apart, he did not get far before giving up. I compression tested this cold and got 120 psi on two cylinders and 90 psi on the third. It shifts with no problems, prop spins freely, and comes with no controls. I have not started this motor but think its well worth working on, I dont have the time and my wife wants it out of the cellar (too many projects going on). Make me a reasonable offer and its yours. Please dont ask me to part this out. I know the lower unit alone is worth $ but I dont have the time and need the whole thing gone.
